Description
Really unsure who they choose with the goalies, I just chose Samsonov. No clue what his contract will look like, but I think they're gonna go with a "prove it". I can't see them really bringing any of the UFAs back honestly. MAYBE Larsson and MoJo. I decided not to.

When Wilson is back, Snively is out and one of Dowd/Sturm/Hathaway sits or rotates sitting. Caps fans, curious thoughts on if McMichael and Alexeyev are ready for the roles I put them at (MM I think is, looked good and then when he flamed out had solid AHL levels. Reminds me of Farabee on the Flyers) and if other young players like Lapierre are closer to being in contention. Its hard for me to know who is close to breaking through for neutral teams.

  1. Crouse, Lawson [Droits de RFA]
Détails additionnels:
Think he could be a sneaky pick up for Washington, and they have leaned into getting "big" guys recently. He can skate and has some offense I think WSH could unlock too.

  1. Vanecek, Vitek [Droits de RFA]
  2. Choix de 2e ronde en 2022 (WPG)
Détails additionnels:
Yotes have Vejmelka and no one else really under contract as a goalie, and I think Provestov is probably AHL this year. Can't hurt to take Vanecek and possibly flip him.

Miller would likely sign an extension as well, I would guess somewhere from 7-9.5.

Canucks decline. The main pieces in the deal are picks and no good prospects you haven’t accounted the value for Myers at $3M

Canucks pass pretty easily. Myers at 3M is worth at least a 2nd, and a bunch of meh pieces + a 1st doesn’t get Miller

The thing about Miller to the Caps is, he would be a perfect pickup for the Caps but there are other teams that have more to offer as most of those other teams would have better roster players and prospects to give them. I am hoping the Caps sign a FA like Kadri, Trocheck or even Strome and work it that way since you don't empty your player/prospect pockets to get someone. Lapierre will be ready by next year and even if Backy comes back next year too, one of these new free agents can move to wing or 3C.

Definitely fair about Myers, I think I assumed wanting to jettison him played too much to the caps. What about full contract? Also, I’m not a caps fan so I don’t know their system (which as others have pointed out is thin) too well, but I did legitimately think Protas was seen as a good prospect. Definitely did not mean to insult. My only overall rebuttal is that very often we think trades are gonna get a team the Duchene return and are very underwhelmed in our eyes. Not saying I’m right just that GMs like Sakic are rare for their patience, selection of return, and a little luck.

Take Myers out of VAN trade - they won't retain that much on him and it's messing up your value. Miller would be a good fit on the Caps if they are willing to pay assets required.

McM is ready for 3C - probably best to move Eller out at this point. With those savings plus leftover cap you can upgrade another top 9 winger too and find a 3rd pair veteran guy. Alexeyev will get a shot I think and could be ready but have a guy like TVR if not.

Crouse would be a nice pickup and Miller seems like a certainty lol. Samsonov contract is a little high I think, especially for a prove-it deal. If another center is added, I think Eller gets moved for a mid pick so that McMichael can play 3c. That 3.5 plus the around 3m you already have unused I think they try to use on another top 6 winger -- Nichuskin may have priced himself out but maybe someone like Marchment, Trocheck, or Neiderreiter. I know you traded AJF away in this one, but I think they have him or another hershey guy take Hagelin's spot instead of signing Sturm even though I like him as a player. Overall though this is both pretty realistic and would be a good outcome for this summer

You definitely did not insult, just wanted to point out that it would probably take a 1st, 2nd, and a higher end prospect such as Iorio, McMichael, Lapierre, etc to get it done
