Based on today's rumors I think the Pens will re-sign Letang but not Malkin. I listened to Friedman on Pat Macafee's show and he said
a. Malkin and the Pens are far apart on money
b. Letang and Pens are off by about 1.25 a year
c. Decent chance Fleury returns

I think C happens and Letang gets re-signed. The Pens cannot pay Malkin and Letang both what they want. If Letang didn't re-sign I could see them bringing Malking back, but I think they'll have to chose between one or the other. Lets say Letang wants 8.5 and Malkin 7. That's 15.5 in cap space, which just is not enough to retain the current team much less improve it. In that scanerio there is no way were better than last year. Rakell would 100% not be retainable and only one of Heinen, Rodrigues, or Kapanen would be. I think they'll try and get both, but in the end have to chose between paying one what they want or losing both.
