Liljegren and JBD have not showed they have good chance to become top 4 dman on a regular basis. JBD have the better potentiel because he is still young, but Timothy is a #5-6 right now

I think Liljegren took some real strides this year to becoming that top 4 guy. His development has taken a little longer, partly because the Leafs have often prioritized experienced guys in their lineup.

Is Garland really worth a first + early 2nd???

Looking at Reinhart and Buchnevich trades last off-season, I wouldn't like to pay that price

And nothing against Garland, but I'd have bigger targets first (Fiala for ex). He would be a back-up plan



JBD had a very good first pro season, he became a key D-man for Troy Mann very quickly. He's not going to be someone putting a lot of points though. Think about a Chris Phillips type, very good defensively, only puts 20ish points per season.
