You really think that the habs will accept that after all the rumors about Anderson's worth the past week or so?

Rumors were Vegas would have to add at least a 2nd to get rid of Dadonov. Price decides to come back every Montreal trade becomes a cap dump.

Detroit declines. We're looking for veteran help on LD, we already have eight kids 23 or younger on that position and don't need more.

Anderson is worth like a pretty good prospect and a couple of picks. colin white used to be kent hughes client and really needs a change of scenery. mdz is a good depth dman, this way they get players who can fill out the line up right away aswell as getting 2 fairly decent picks

Comparing the Dadonov trade to a potential Anderson isn't how this should be looked at. If Anderson is traded then the habs will receive at least a first round pick or a A prospect. Hughes has shown that in his short time he will only trade someone if he gets what he wants.

Also, the habs have roughly 2 million in space with Price on the roster, the only cap dump they would have to do would be Hoffman. They are also likely trading Petry but that will not be a cap dump.

I'd do Brannstrom for Hayton, instead. Unfortunately, you don't get a former top 5 pick for a cap dump and a few mid round picks.

The habs will not trade anderson for a struggle young player, a replacement d, a late 2nd and a late 3rd. If the sens really want Anderson, it starts with one of the teams top prospects in the system

Habs wouldn't accept that trade but 7th overall for Anderson and 26th would be something they'd say yes to

Del Zotto would be our 5th or 6th option.

Assuming that Yzerman isn't going to bank on one of the kids stealing a roster spot during camp he's likely to want to acquire two LD and that will then be two defenders with two very different and specific jobs. One of them will have to be tailor made to be paired with Hronek and mitigate his weaknesses (Marcus Pettersson is perfect for that job), the other one will have to be able to QB our second PP and be good enough to play with Seider and mentor him and the frontrunners for that job is Schmidt and Martinez. Del Zotto isn't really a good fit for either of those two job descriptions.

Only if everything else fails will Del Zotto enter the discussion.

Nothing to do with Hughes and his trades or Dadonov. Just saying take rumors as rumours.

Unfortunately capfriendly was glitching when i was making the trade and the players in the system were not appearing. was going to throw sokolov or another decent prospect in. Don’t think personally i’d give up branstrom for hayton

You are simply wrong about that, sure we have some cap dumps but most of our players (Anderson being one) have actual value. Just cause you think we will be desperate to move players at a loss, does not make it true. We have no need to move Anderson or anyone, we are currently 2 mil under the cap and have options (buying out Byron gives us another 2 mil ish as dies buying out Drouin) we are not as desperate as you may think.

Cap dumps or buyouts. Buying out Drouin and Byron does the job. Depends on Romanov's deal how much more they can do.

Romy only gets about 2.5 on a 3 year deal or 4 mil on a 5+ year deal. Pitlick gets less than 2 mil so if we do a 3 year deal on both we only need about 4.5 mil we already have 2 mil so buying out both Drouin (or trading him half retained for a 2nd) covers or pretty well covers our cap situation and that is only if Price is able to play (which is still doubtful in my mind)

MTL don't want to trade Anderson therefore they will only be trading him for an offer they can't refuse which Hughes has already said. The OTT trade is not an offer he can't refuse, a team will have a give up a 1st or a higher end prospect for Hughes to move Anderson so either someone will end up overpaying or MTL just Keep him. They have 2M in cap right now and Petry highly likely leaving the summer so that's another 6.2M they're fine for cap and not IF Price decides to play lol he needs to know how his knee responds to his recent Injections And if he needs another surgery so it's a waiting game not price just sitting around deciding if he's going to play or Enjoy LTIR.
