Detroit doesn't touch that even though it would be horrible for MTL to give up Thier shot at Bedard.

Wrong ... Wings do accept IF... habs eat some aav on the cap dumps and/or the 1st is completely UNPROTECTED & The 3rd becomes at least a 2nd rd pick... cuz both petry & Gallagher if don't work out w/our rebuild we can flip them to playoff teams for assets (especially if we eat some aav) ...on those conditions only would Wings accept..if not..then no

I really hope the Isles stay away from Anderson. I don’t think he’s significantly better or worse than Beau, just wildly different, but for the Isles to give up that much cap flexibility for an older player and such a minimal upgrade (if you’re of the opinion that Anderson is better) would be a disaster imo.

Anderson 100% has more value than Beau. Beau already being talked about as a cap casualty to go hunting in free agency. Anderson would only be moved according to Frank Seravalli, for a "Godfather" return lol

Everything I said still stands. I think if that’s where we’re at, he’s overrated. I’m fine with trading Beauvillier, but if it were for Anderson I think that ends poorly for the Isles

Don't disagree that Anderson may be overrated but you can say the same for Beauvilier. Great fancy stats, no finishing, same problem for Puljujarvi. Neither matter as perception is what drives value a lot of the time. Anderson perception is certainly better as your counting scarcity, power forward dynamic, etc

It's some serious galaxy brain trading. Montreal trading away their shot at Bedard is just unthinkable

I think Montreal would have to eat like a million of Gallagher for the deal to happen. At least then Gallagher could maybe be moved, probably for almost nothing if he doesn't bounce back, at less than 3M a year. I would want to take that for a chance at bedard or Fantili but I also don't think Montreal will be a complete bottom feeder next season so it's not really guaranteed.

Price doesn't waive to Arizona. Really too much bad cap for Wings to take on.

Detroit declines, not trading Bert and don't want Petry.

But Habs fans keep insisting that Anderson gets Montreal from #26 to #6, or #5, or even #4!!

That's because most Habs fans don't understand value in a salary Cap world.

The beau trade rumors are bc hes the only guy that could be moved in a hockey trade that has actual value.
Anderson in each of the past 2 seasons has been on pace for 38 points over 82 games and is making 5.5m for another 5 years. In what world does he get a good return.

2 out of the last 3 years Beauvillier has been an above average finisher. It’s irrelevant that Anderson has more market value than Beau, Anderson would be a terrible fit on the islanders and even if MTL added to the trade isles would still decline

Market value is the crux of the argument. Irrelevant?

If it were guaranteed that Mtl finished as a bottom feeder, the first would never be on the table not that it is anyway. Any team offering a 1st rounder unprotected in 2023 has hope of being in the lottery and is an asset far beyond the worth of Bertuzzi.

It doesn’t matter because the islanders have 0 interest in Anderson.
