Description
Let Protas Snively Rybinski Zacha all battle for the 1 RW spot... maybe even Clark who has a more "physical" Wilson type game, i would even be opposed to letting CMM play top RW and have Zacha play 3c... theres a bunch of options till Wilson gets back

Alexeyev was going to be on the NHL roster next year.. He got hurt pushing it back 1 year? both guys are on the same trajectory / in the same situation. too good for the AHL but no room for them iin the NHL

With Doughty and Walker back, Spence is certainly going back to the AHL, there is no rush to make him an NHLer now.

He absolutely did look rough, but a first-year pro taking on those minutes is incredible, we were down with a lot of injuries and Durzi and Spence's play told me that Durzi is the one with sky-high value that we should move, Spence is a player who still can develop in the AHL and become more valuable. I'm sorry that you disagree, but unless the Kings address top-line scoring or left-shot defenseman what is the value of prospect trading?

Durzi would be the guy i keep.. he was the guy that looked amazing imo.

so imo what is Spence trade value? in package vs individual

If we move him it will be to get a top-line winger (added as the sweetener for Debrincat) or a 2LD (LIke Spence, Turcotte, 1st, 2nd, rights to RFA for Chychrun) who can help our atrocious special teams. Otherwise let him stay, Kings have a great prospect farm, and letting it grow is in their best interest.

I'd agree if we didn't have Doughty, Roy, Clarke, Grans, Faber, and Spence on that side. Durzi is likely at peak value, and will get limited play time next season with Roy and Doughty taking most of the RD1 & RD2 minutes, Walker being back and Clarke pushing to play. But we'll see,

Good question. I have a lot of trouble evaluating trade value of non blue-chipper prospects (ie: Byfield, Clarke, Turcotte, etc) in an individual sense. However as part of a package, I think Spence can be a solid secondary piece. Like @tryger says, Spence would be a solid addition to a Chychrun package as the complimentary-to-Turcotte/Vilardi blue-chipper. To me, Spence is in the same tier as Grans and could be interchangeable.

Durzi is the guy I think the Kings can sell high on. He's at the end of his ELC, he's older and has done most of his developing, and doesn't have much more of a ceiling than where he's at. Spence showed a lot of very similar capabilities to Durzi, but has better skating abilities and still has development and growing to do. He just doesn't have the snarl that Durzi does, which would be missed by LA for sure.

I don't think the value is significantly off in your trade, I just don't think the Kings are going to use their trade chips to downgrade prospects and add mid-round picks. The Kings would be significantly better off packaging up Vilardi + Spence + 1st and bringing in a top quality NHL player that can contribute now instead of a guy that's a longshot to be a top-four defenseman.

This looks pretty good and they would still have around 4 mil to play with. Not going to go too deep into the Alexeyev/Spence debate since I am not a prospect expert but prospect swaps only happen if both teams have a reason to do so. LA clearly has a RD backup and the caps have only Iorio who is probably 2-3 seasons away, so I can see something there. Even if it is not Spence, poaching a RD from LA would be a good move that could very easily make sense for both sides.
