we give up a good prospect a third and a later pick to get rid of Zucker. Arizona makes the cap floor and it is only one year. plus if he gets healthy and plays like he played in the playoffs the can flip him at the deadline with retention for more futures..

only big problem is the no trade clause... hopefully they find a way...

I do like this team a lot, however there are a few tweaks I would make. Dont sign one of ZAR and Motte and play O'Connor instead. Also instead of trading Marino to VAN we can trade him to CBJ for 12th OVR. Most everyone has liked the Marino for 12th OVR trade. You'll have to look at the other posts to find what the exact trade was cause I dont remember right now.

FYI, The original Marino trade was Marino a 2nd and a 3rd for 12 OA. Just letting you know.

Overall I think this is a formula for success. Some of the values are a bit off but I think this is a blueprint for an incredible team. I think NYR would find a way to match that (probably, not for sure) and I think nichushkin stays in Colorado but this is a beauty nonetheless.

yeah that sound fair thanks. I think you are probably right in nichushkin case (is him or kadri probably) for kakko not sure but the rangers are in serious cap problems

•Elliot’s Friedman said he was told that avalanche priorities are a Nate Dogg extension then keeping Nichushkin. Sounds like they have accepted kadri is going to make to much. I also got the vibe that they aren’t going to overpay nichushkin. They are going to offer him what hes worth and maybe a bit more but nothing crazy. That last part is speculation by me but maybe that’s where Pitt comes in and overpays him to get the player on FA day

Columbus isn’t moving 12th for Marino and the rest of the stuff in the trade has no value to Columbus. If you want 12th OA, it’ll cost Marino and 21st OA. A much more fair and balanced trade is 12 and 44 for 21 and Marino.

Honestly I don’t see why Pittsburgh wants to get rid of him, I know he had a pretty bad season and his value is low right now, but he is still a decent player.

As for Kaako I agree they are right up against the cap but I think they would find a way to match if only to keep him from going to Pitt.

    But who knows

The Hextall management group isn’t as high on him as the Rutherford group was. Plus he is replaceable in the short term by a player like Manson and he is our most valueable tradable asset. It makes a lot of sense to trade him for a first and overpay for Manson in FA

in reality we probably keep marino and don't sign Manson. but I'm not sure if it was marino having a not so great season or just him not playing great with Matheson

Well it’s a good think Ron Hextall didn’t put this ACGM together isn’t it?

When people put ACGMs together they often don’t stress about the little details because it is beyond the scope of the ACGM. Unless it is title “super realistic” or something like that, the team probably won’t work because of the cap or maybe they forgot to sign some prospects they are just focusing on the main roster.

Yes, but he isn’t worth 12th OA, and Columbus doesn’t need more prospects/picks they need elite level players and prospects. The likely hood is that Columbus isn’t getting that high end talent in the 2nd or 3rd round.

I also think you could get a better return from someone like Toronto or Edmonton who might be willing to move multiple 1sts to get Marino who could play top pair for them at 4.4 mil. A contender might be really interested in his lower priced long term contract.

I like the team a lot outside of the Kakko signing. Don't offer sheet Kakko and dump MAF, sign a backup goalie for like $1mil and then use the remaining$5-$5.5mil to get a good winger on that 3rd line in my opinion. Like maybe Copp, Smith, Palat, Niederreiter, etc. Poulin will need the help.

That would be potentially acceptable to the Jackets. This one as written, with Heinen and Gruden instead of the picks, absolutely isn't - wingers are the last thing we need.

He still has to clear waivers to be sent to the AHL, his exemption expire on the 13th of July.
