This isn't bad. I think the moves are right, but not ones that would ever be accepted. Reimer is San Jose's best goalie. If they are looking to compete, they aren't trading him. If they are looking to rebuild, they might trade him, but not for those pieces. They would probably want Knies/Robertson if you're looking to get him with retainment. As for the Muzzin trade, I don't think LA takes him, but I could see him going somewhere else for a similar price.

Ducks say no. No need to lose an asset for a rental veteran LW while not contending. If you want Stolarz you’ll have to overpay because there’s no incentive to move him. And not with players that won’t be around to help when we’re actually competing in 2+ years

The Stolarz-for-Kerfoot exchange has been addressed many times. My friend @jded has accurately stated the objections to it, so no need for me to elaborate except to point out that he graciously (i.e., no doubt intentionally) omitted the word "expensive" to describe Kerfoot.

The Muzzin-back-to-Los-Angeles exchange has been addressed even more times. It's a HORRIBLE idea for Los Angeles, a team developing through youth. Our two primary objectives this summer are to acquire either (1) a first-class forward (think Fiala or Forsberg) either through trade or free agency, and (2) a first-class #1 LD. Muzzin's cap hit would virtually preclude either, and we could probably get the same results out of re-signing Alex Edler or even Olli Maatta for far less.
