Been wondering what his price would be… don’t think the cap fits the talent but I’d want him in Philly

schenn and johnson can take cheap contracts or walk. they are low priority. avs will likely move girard to make room if necessary. mack, newhook and byram will all get done.

3.5-4 maybe for 2-3 years? I just think someone will overpay him since he’s a RD

Sakic has said MacK extension is priority 1 this off season and EJ coming off the books next year is MacK’s contract so that’s not a big stretch. Byram and Newhook are RFA’s and bridges might be necessary but not end of the world. Avs cap space issues are over blown because Sakic hasn’t handed out long term contracts to non core players.

Sakic doesn't trade players he signed with multiple years left, out of player respect and to honor his contract promise. Roy wouldn't hesitate to throw guys into the garbage bin, but with Super Joe, earning that contract is a big deal. Sakic stuck with other guys coming back from major injury: Timmins, EJ, and Byram. G is gonna get every opportunity to turn it around and finish out that deal as an Av.

Just trade Compher and/or EJ. They both have one year left so they won't be that hard to get rid of. I wouldn't make Mikko 2C, he's a winger at his core and he should be kept as such IMO. Prioritize signing Manson to fill the bottom pairing, he's shown his worth and we paid a lot for him.
