Don’t matter if the leafs like it or not, Preds reject immediately. That’s way too much of our future sold to get a player who doesn’t really move the needle to “cup contender” for us.

Curious why wouldn’t the preds just go after those players and keep everything we have going in this trade? Giving up that much for a player that doesn’t automatically turn us into a cup contender would not be smart

what if... you could keep all those assets. and give us. a roster forward who can play in the top 6, saros and next years first? you are getting a top 3 RW in the nhl plus you have askarov breaking into the nhl very soon

If Nashville is trading saros we have no use for marner. By the time we’re back to contending with askarov marner will be a ufa

same can be said for the leaf trading marner for futures. matthews will be a UFA before any of the new guys break into the league

NSH has ingram. i know he didnt play great this year but hes going to bea very good goalie. if you want marner it starts with sarros

Oh I get that’s why a marner to Nashville doesn’t make sense. I personally don’t want marner. He just doesn’t fit our timeline.

100% AGREE, i think however selling off a guy like sarros to let ingram play would be better in the long run. sarros could keep you in a state of mediocrity. two the three years out nashville will be one of the best teams in the nhl. and im confident with that.

a realistic trade for marner would be with another contender for a bunch of stuff
