Yeah I agree he's become a bit of a scapegoat for TML fans despite putting up solid metrics at 5v5 and on the PK.

At $2m x1 he'd be an affordable replacement for Manson who probably costs around $4m X3 to bring back.

Holl isn't amazing by any means but Avs ideally need another RHS Dman for the bottom 4. If he's available I think Sakic will kick tyres on the price, maybe even filter him through a capdump team to get 50% retained.

Totally agree. I'd need to see a longer track record of success before I'm comfortable with that contract. Could end up being a costly mistake.

Holl is meh, but I'd potentially be ok depending on the price.

He was asking for 4 X $3.5m from Ottawa before being traded iirc, and his stock has only risen with Tampa. 4x4 would be good value for a versatile 3C who can chip in ~35-40 points, win draws, play defense, and bring size.

I suspect that you're right. That's why I refrained from specifying assets in the trade, just leaving it open. Dubas probably knows that his metrics are better than public opinion suggests so wouldn't trade him too cheap. Then again, it's Dubas, and prices are generally cheaper in the off-season. If he needs capspace it might not be a huge return.

Nick Paul looks like the center version of Nichuskin, who can win draws and play high level defense. He'd be a nice addition to the 3rd line. I totally get the doubts though.

Thanks for your feedback. Prices at the deadline tend to be a bit higher than in the off-season, so I suspect that it would be closer to a 4th than a 3rd, but yeah in that ballpark sounds about right.
