That's not a detailed enough assessment, and you're disregarding scoring pace, can't just look at point totals, and not making the playoffs in the pacific just because they're the weakest division isn't as much of a detriment as you think. Also, your Rangers only made it to the conference finals out of pure luck

Thankfully NYR isn’t one of the teams interested now. NJ is so I’m hoping to start seeing those packages since the NYR ship sailed.

Lundqvist has minimal room to thrive in NY with the guys in front of him. Rangers fans have amplified his value. It is likely that he peaks as a 2nd pair guy. Who in their right mind is trading a top line player for a at highest value 2nd pair defender?
