I trust Alexeyev more and think Osh and Tom should switch. Maybe even throw Tom back up with his two usuals since trocheck and Val can be physical and may mesh well with Mantha.

Would be very pleased with this offseason

I figured it would be LuJo and Alexeyev essentially splitting 3LD duties until someone grabbed it or we reinforce it at the deadline. As for the lines, I'm sure they'd end up fluid all the way around. I went with this configuration to give Sheary and McMichael some size on their line while keeping Oshie on that "shutdown" line. And if the Mantha we saw in the Florida series is here to stay, I think he'd fit well with Ovechkin and Kuznetsov. But the fact that what you threw out makes total sense, and there's other ways to configure this forward group that makes sense just goes to show the versatility this would give us

This would be an incredible offseason. Still a little wary of giving up so much for gibson, but I think everything is pretty realistic and fair

If you want a goalie of Gibson's perceived caliber, it's going to be pricey in a trade. Especially with a fair amount of goalie-needy teams potentially inquiring on him since he has term on a contract that isn't very cost prohibitive.

Love Gibson, that trade makes sense. Would rather keep Vanacek than Samasonov, but that's just me. The Eller trade makes sense, I just don't see Calgary being the team to do it. Down the middle, if we're going to sign a free agent center, I like Strome over Trochek, but that's being nitpicky. Trochek is a great player. Nichushkin is a stud, and i would be really curious to see him on the right of Ovi and kuzy. LuJo had a great AHL season this year, I think you're right having him on the third pair. I'd like to see Alexeyev there, but I think LuJo gets the first shot out of camp. You can probably do without Larsson, that role can be filled internally by Snively, Leason, Protas, etc.

All in all, this would be a very nice offseason.

I definitely question it too, since we don't have the best track record with goalies since Mitch Korn left. But I'm hoping playing in front of a better defense takes some of the stress off Gibson

The thought process is that if Samsonov develops more and shows some more of that potential, we'd maybe be able to deal him the next offseason and recuperate some draft capital. Strome worries me just because he's done the vast majority of his damage playing with Panarin. I thought bringing Larsson back just made the most sense with how dominant the fourth line was with him on there, it allows us to use the fourth line as a pure shutdown line the way Lav wants to.
