You may be undervaluing Nylander and his cap hit. Also, Gibson has a high cap hit for a goalie which may not be appealing to a lot of teams given his stat lines recently. I don't know. Just fun to throw names in and out and see what the possibilities could be. Chances are none of this happens and we just sign Sam Gagner to play on our fourth line.

I find it both hilarious and pathetic that the fanbases of the two teams who will never make it to the Stanley Cup final until they cure their chronic goaltender problems (Edmonton and Toronto) are the most vociferous in despising John Gibson.

Leafs haven't had much goaltending problems. Besides finding decent backups sometimes. I don't see Gibson, certainly in his current form, to be that piece. Like I've said all along leafs can't gamble right now. Which is why they aren't even is in on Gibson. There are teams in a way better position to take that leap. If he's moved that's where he will go.

Based on? He’s been a below average starter the last 3 years, it’s literally backed up by stats. He’s talented enough to rebound on a better team but that doesn’t mean he’s a top 10 goalie based on his play over the last 3 years

Low cap hit, right shot, RD like Holl, who can kill penalties and play a relatively steady game are still valuable. Klingberg is as good as gone in Dallas. Holl isn't Klingberg, but could fill a hole back there at a low cap hit.

Goalies are very hard to rank but there are plenty of goalies with far better stats over the last 3 years. Gibson doesn’t rank close to the top of the league at all in major goalie stats such as Sv%, GSAX, etc

His play is way better than his numbers. I can tell you know nothing about hockey.
