Sabres will come back to this trade, at trade deadline, when they would be still in the playoffs hunt. And Jack Quinn is off the table, since Sabres aren't Kane away from being playoff team.

Taking on Toews even at 5mil, just to play him at 4C, is beyond stupid for the Canes. They might as well get payed to do so since it would hurt their chances at a cup. And Murphy really isn’t what the Canes need either. Canes pass.

Kane is too old to demand the top prospect on a team (I think power will be good. But not great).

And this isn't just with the sabs. No team is giving their best prospect for a rental at his age.

he wouldnt play 4C, lol. Straddle about anyone with Johnson and Kubalik plus play the toughest matchups, you will get little production. Murphy is a pretty good defender and we get rid of Gardiner.
