While the Rangers don't have a great amount of cap space to fill holes this season, any multi-year spending could really impact the team negatively next off-season.

From here we let Strome and Copp walk as 2C. Promote Chytil and sign Stasny to play 3C. This pushes Goodrow down to 4C and can still let them acquire a center upgrade if needed at the TDL.

As much as I dislike Nemeth he could serve as the 7th D and rotate as needed, would be easier to move in a "hockey trade" towards the deadline as well

Othmann makes the team out of camp, I think this is the most likely scenario since Cuylle can play in the AHL next season whereas Othmann's option is to go back to Flint, something I don't think will be incredibly beneficial to him. He can play in a 3rd line role and has the skill set to play a scoring role or a hard-nose checking role. I believe his contract burns either way so might as well get him up.

If my math is correct, this would leave the Rangers with close to $10M in TDL cap space and $20M next season to sign Miller, Laf, Jones and Chytil to important RFA deals.

All this while allowing Kravtsov to recoup some value as a player, hopefully becoming a more useful trade piece alongside Nils and Robertson
