I mean it’s hard to argue Kane isn’t worth 7m - maybe 1m retention at most but I don’t think you can really say 7m is a BAD aav for Kane’s capacity.


I honestly think we see a trade where Carolina is gonna trade for him and SJS will retain 1.5mill

As to me I think he could be the missing piece they need but who knows.

Wow... Not shocked that Brunette is out in Florida - kinda had a feeling - but I'm absolutely bamboozled that it's Maurice taking over. I thought They were going to be all over Trotz or Cassidy when they were available. This bodes well for competitive Atlantic division teams, imo.

True but knowing Chevy hes probs gonna eye a RD like Niemela and another prospect like Robertson then ask us to add picks

But honestly if the cost was a 1st + Robertson + Niemela to get Hellebuyck I would pay that in a heartbeat as this is the goalie that can take you places.

Gotta think the last 3 are gone in a rebuild if they can find any takers. And Heinola is good but other younger guys like Samberg and Stanley aren’t so good that they should be picky about who they bring in.

Who knows but either way if Jets cant get PLD to sign a long term deal and both Scheifele and Wheeler want out.

If they decide rebuild I would be all over Hellebuyck as this is a goalie that can take you over the hump and is a sure upgrade over Campbell. Yes he had a bad year but reduce his game to 55 and have a better Dcore in front of him and man its gonna be fun.

Winnipeg needs a Seider level talent. They don’t have anyone . They forced Morrissey to play as their 1D but he’s not that good.

The question then becomes though, can the Leafs even reduce Hellebuyck’s workload to 55 games? He’s on a great contract but he still makes over 6mil, and the Leafs would have cap problems if Campbell even wants 5mil. So you can’t exactly afford a quality veteran backup (going rate ~2-3mil). You gonna trust Kallgren for 30 games?

I also wouldn’t be surprised if Helle costs both Knies and Niemela, plus a 1st. Not sure the Leafs are willing to eat a hit that large to their already shallow prospect pool.

As if Bergeron retires PLD could slot right into that spot. And while he wont replace what he does it aint a bad idea.

Unless they trade Pastrnak, Boston has no futures assets that are appealing. Lysell is okay, but does him plus a top-10 protected 1st next year (nobody is trading a 2023 1st without protection) really get PLD?
