If Bergeron leaves tank for bedard part 1

Description
Bruins fans might be insanely lucky they’re going to bottom out in a year with 3 franchise talents in the draft. In the ideal situation of course, you get bedard and never have to worry about centre depth again. The best part about this possible rebuild is you don’t have to trade McAvoy away, as you can tank with him on IR.

Either way, lots of solid young pieces they need to build around. A rebuild has been coming for years

Depends which direction they’re going tbh. If they think Rossi can step in and instantly be a good middle 6 C no reason to make this trade, and yet if they add Marchand right now they turn into a cup contender easily

We need any many cheap over performing players as possible, Rossi is a prime candidate for that. For about 3 years here we’ll be in the cheap contract model.

Nothing like trading a 1st pair dman, a recent top 10 pick about to break into the NHL, and a future 1st round pick that has a strong chance of being top 10 due to cap constraints for a 34 year old winger.

Boston plans to re-sign Pasta and he's willing to re-sign with Boston. I'd expect something similar to what McAvoy signed

I can’t see minny trading a centre for a winger even though it makes a lot of sense from a cap perspective

Also, Pitt would probably give you more than that for dumba at 50% retained - especially if Letang or Marino is traded

Pointless scenario as they won't rebuild because Jacobs won't allow it lol. Zero chance Jacobs would be ok with willingly losing out on playoff money, not to mention if the plan was to tank they would have fired Sweeney.

No I'm just someone whose followed the team for over 30 years and knows what matters most to the owner....and that's money. Jacobs doesn't care if they win the cup or get bounced in round one, as long as they get into the playoffs and he gets his piece of the playoff money. Again if there was any plan to rebuild via a tank then they would have fired Sweeney and brought in someone new. They wouldn't be getting ready to sit down with Pastrnak to work on an extension and they wouldn't have gone out and traded the assets they did to acquire Lindholm and sign him to an 8yr extension. You also wouldn't have Bergeron considering coming back if they were going to full on tank and rebuild.

He is. He’s a guy that thinks its still the 80s, and penny pinching Jacobs is costing the Neely led bruins a cup. When he goes on these rants just ignore him, unless you want to talk about NHL ownership, but in the salary cap era i would rather slam a certain appendage in a dresser drawer.

With that top four it doesn’t really matter what else the bruins do to try to tank. They’re fighting for a playoff spot. You can skip the part 2.

Top pair D man? What? Dumba has been pretty average and overpaid for the last 3 years

McAvoy, their best player, won’t be playing until February. That doesn’t bode well for the defense

See, this is what happens when you listen to uninformed people and don't watch the games. Brodin-Dumba is the top pair on Minnesota. They are 1-2 in time on ice by a significant margin. Dumba plays almost 3 more minutes per game even strength than Spurgeon and leads the team in TOI/GP.

no body said jacobs is penny pinching. i agree with on3m4n. you cant explain the mid 2010's any other way. you just cant. 2014-2017 we should have rebuilt/retooled. instead we got worse and we are feeling that as a fanbase now. all because instead of selling off pieces and being in the 70-80 point range for 2 years... jacobs wanted to make the playoffs. that 14-15 roster 15-16 roster and 16-17 roster were not going anywhere deep in any scenario and their young talent outside of pasta was non existent.

No. It's not dependable. Minnesota doesn't need Wingers. They certainly won't trade a top pairing dman whose still young, a top c prospect at a position of need, and 1st round pick for a Winger, they have no need for. Brad M isn't eichel either

I've actually never said Jacobs was costing them anything, just that at minimum he expects the team to make the playoffs so he can get his playoff money. This isn't even some big secret and pretty commonly known by anyone whose followed the team for any decent amount of time.

BTW why'd you stop using your @BCarlo25 account?

Edmonton can't afford David Pastrnak long term, They already have cap issues going into this season they need to address.

Minnesota can't afford Brad Marchand, And i doubt Marchand waives to go there.

    Buffalo passes and Calgary passes.

Doubtful Linus Ullmark would even waive his full NTC for Edmonton, He seems to like it there in Boston a lot.

Not to mention if this is the price that Bruins fans are expecting for Marchand, he likely isn't getting traded.

Yeah that's a pretty brutal offer, For a guy who just had double hip surgery and isn't expected back to December or January at the very earliest.
