None of those trades really make any sense. I don't see any of them being realistic. Sorry.

I feel like chirping the first round impotence and then asking for people to "go easy" ain't going to go well tears of joy

But, in all seriousness, my thoughts:
-Muzzin won't waive his full NTC, and Edmonton absolutely wouldn't move Broberg in a deal like this.
-I feel like Campbell at slightly less than $5 mil is a less bad move than that. Bob's 33 now vs. Jack at 30.
-I think you get Wood cheaper after NJ non-tenders him.

The Oilers are not moving Broberg for Muzzin when they already said no to moving him for Chychrun. Lol

Like the others said Edmonton is not moving Broberg for Muzzin even without the pick and the Devils are not giving away Miles Wood when they need more forwards like him and not less.

wood is definitely going to be available this summer. a likely divide in contract expectations and handling of his injury will definitely force NJ to look to trade his rights. as for broberg, the oilers refused to trade him before he finished the year as a significant underperformer. the potential is there for sure, but I think after the run the oilers had this year, Holland will be very tempted to double down on his win now approach and get muzzin who can immediately impact the team.

That is not remotely true on Wood. Wood has been a key piece and will be tendered. His injury is not a factor in his RFA rights. Even if someone did offer sheet him at the 2.7 million he is currently making or better the compensation would be a 2nd round pick.

How was Broberg an "underperformer" when he barely played any games because Holland went out and got a washed up Keith who is plugging up a spot on LD when we have a couple of young LD who are ready for ft NHL minutes. I am not against giving up some A prospects to go all in win now mode, but muzzin ain't it. Holland would be better off to circle back to Arizona and offer up Broberg in a package for Chychrun.

im a fan of broberg and i think he has potential but when he did play he was bad. he couldn't control turnovers and was a disaster everywhere else in the d zone. the underlying stats for the games he played back it up, he ranked in the 19th percentile for WAR and the 30th percentile for EV Defense. to say he held the same value he did a year ago would just be wrong. my point is with keith is that holland is capable of making "win now" moves for veterans even when they are highly questionable.

wood is good when healthy, that doesn't change the fact that he endured a severe injury that no one seems to know anything about besides the fact that it regards his hip. nhl players seem to have the most trouble with hip injuries. wood is good, but he consistently played a bottom six role, he is no more important than zacha but people just hate zacha because he was a high pick. to argue that he is totally off the table in terms of trades is just false. if you wanted to argue hes worth more than the fourth thats fair, I can see him fetching a third. not to mention new jersey is going to be loaded with depth at the wing after this offseason especially if they draft slaf.

They gave up almost nothing in the Keith trade. You have them giving up a top-10 pick and a 2nd. One is not like the other.

Broberg's AHL scoring pace out him 11th all time for 20 year old defensemen. He's well ahead of Oscar Klefbom at the same age.

Clueless.

and to judge a rookie on a handful of games using just advanced stats is niave. anyone who actually watched the games will see he improved over the season and will be a full time impact player next season not someone you give up for a washed up veteran that even TOR doesn't want so why would the oilers

To make myself totally clear, Broberg has clear potential to be a good player. This is the cost to get Muzzin. Although there is clear risk, it could pay off big for Edmonton. Muzzin is a proven top 4 guy that Broberg may not be for years. Muzzin should also have at least 2-3 years good years left in the tank to help the Oilers get into the finals.

so once again i will go back to why is TOR trading him then as they need defensive help as well.... why is he the right fit for edm but not TOR it doesnt make sense. and certainly not worth a young defensemen that could be top for by this year and under club control at a low cost for a few years....

LOL. Muzzin is a cap dump, you aren't getting a high end prospect plus a 2nd for him. You're completely out of touch with reality.
