Hawks easily decline. Some players take longer to break out, I believe Dach is one such player. We have no use for Matheson and Kapanen is basically a 3rd.

hawks / oilers have no use for any pieces in these deals tbh. It would have to be Matheson + kappy for Pulju w/ salary coming back and some picks, then maybe a first and Hållander + another prospect for Dach

People need to stop "paying" Rodrigues. It won't even be through December before complaints of his contract start. $1.5M-ish max.

Hmm, if he doesn't get AT LEAST 2.5 AAV, he should fire his agent on the spot...

I mean, do you realize what the average NHL salary is? Well it's higher than that and it's including the ELCs and bridge deals

Even before this season, he has shown he can be a decent/good 3rd liner

I figure that you are just looking at point totals and making assumptions. Are you aware that over the last 49 games of the season he got 4 goal? 4 over the last 49 games. 13 points over that time, -7. In reality he is a meh 3rd/4th liner that can have spurts. Not physical, but doesn't shy from it, not defensive but good skater. He is literally a dime-a-dozen type bottom 6 guy. $1.5M-ish per or let someone else have him.

And how do you come up with this assumption? Because I disagreed? No, I know about hockey and the NHL market is something I have followed very closely since the cap inception.

He's a decent bottom-6 forward and that can get you some significant money in your UFA years

Since 2017-18, he has a 0.43 PPG which is 35 pts per 82 games... good 3rd line numbers

Yes he just had a good season but he had good/decent seasons before as he had the same 0.52 PPG in 2017-18, 0.39 in 2018-19 and 0.40 in 2020-21

I only see 7 of his 35 ES Pts playing with Crosby (and 0 with Malkin) :

https://frozenpool.dobbersports.com/players/evan-rodrigues

Compare with other forwards, 2.5 AAV seems to be a good approximative. I don't think teams are going to sign him over 3.0 which is more around the NHL average

https://www.capfriendly.com/browse/active/2023/caphit/all/forwards?stats-season=2022&pg=4

Again, his agent would be really bad at his job if all he can get is 1.5 AAV. His only and probably last opportunity to "cash in" a bit

It's ok if you would rather let him go than pay him above 1.5 M$, you can have this opinion no problem. I am talking about the NHL market.

Sigh... I was paying for NHL Center Ice when it came out almost 2 decades ago. I have been talking hockey on the internet for 20 years too, internet services that I have paid myself. I also have been playing (and been paid to play sometimes) for 30+ years. I live in Montreal close to the Bell Centre. I have been to many games at the Bell Centre, or Forum before, as well as doing trips to Ottawa.

I don't know where you live but here hockey is pretty much the ONLY sport. The TV coverage is ridiculous. I have not needed to pay for NHL Center Ice for a long time as they already cover the Habs, the Sens, all the playoffs, and several other regular seasons games from the Lightning, the Penguins and other teams. There's more hockey than anyone has time to consume

Heck, they even cover the ECHL team of the Habs laugh

It's not because I supplement my arguments with information and facts that I'm only "looking at stat lines". The information I just provided are not really "stat lines"

You are basically saying that I am wasting my time talking to a wall or that you just can't keep up

You'd have to be pretty stupid to think that INFORMATION doesn't matter. It's actually very important in life

Again, just look at this link, find how much other NHL players are paid and if you can't "imagine" Evan Rodrigues getting a 2.5 AAV, then I don't know what to tell you. Like I have already said, I have followed the NHL market very closely since the cap inception (2005-06)

https://www.capfriendly.com/browse/active/2023/caphit/all/forwards?stats-season=2022&pg=4

Also, how come is this even close to important for you to start pulling the kind of crap you just did and turn this conversation into an "inconvenience". So ridiculous
