Yeah no. 59 pts in 82 games is not a “cap problem”. Wings take this trade and run and turn it into a 1st or 2nd+ at deadline with retention.

You pay us to take Killorn off your hands not the other way around.

Ondrej Palat on the open market will get 5.5 x 5 he's not taking that much less to remain in Tampa.

You’re smoking something fierce if you think anyone is getting payed to take a 25 goal scorer with ~60 points. That’s not how cap dumps work.

Remember we payed a second for Nick Leddy while the isles were strapped for cap space. If Tampa made Killorn available they’d have teams lining up to pay more then a third.

Yeah no we don't, There is no way Yzerman lets JBB off the hook because Tampa is over the cap. You want to clear cap space it's going to be painful.

Nick Leddy was cleared cap space from the isles. More cap space for less of a player and it cost the wings a second.

Just because we take cap space back doesn’t mean we get payed if that player is actually legitimately good. If you retained on killorn at the deadline you would net a damn first back.

Smh. Paid to take killorn. Rofl.

laugh Then you obviously don't know your own GM to well. Because Yzerman isn't giving up assets for his own former player just to bail out his old team that's not how it works.

I know he would because he’s already done it. Are you even listening to yourself? Nick. Leddy.

He would give up a third if he thought he could flip and get more at the deadline and it would benefit the team in the meantime. You literally just watched him pull this play with Giving up a second for Leddy and then flipping him - could have gotten more if he hadn’t been trash.

Your valuation is incredibly off. Teams will line up to pay more then a third for killorn if he is made available. Because those teams will view him as an asset that improves their team instead of “just a cap hit”.

Thinking someone would pay you to take Killorn is just out of touch with reality. Other way around. There would be a small bidding war to get him.

I seriously doubt Yzerman gives a crap about “bailing out his old team” If the value is there he will make the trade

Nope you have cap issues, you can pay us to take him or keep the cap issues. We are fine either not taking him from you

I am literally a wings fan.

Part of having capspace is you have room to get premium flippable assets when they are available for below market cost. Cap flexibility is literally being taken into account by the poster - it’s why killorn is so cheap.

We got nedelkovich from Carolina because they wanted cap flexibility - it cost us a third.

We got Leddy from the isles because they needed cap flexibility - we paid a second.

Valuation of the player being moved needs to be taken into account.

Tampa will have no problem moving killorn I’d they want and they’ll probably get way more then this for it. Steve would be mad not to accept this trade and then turn killorn into a premium asset by trading a playoff bound team a 25 goal scorer and playoff performer for 2m with retention at the deadline.

Where would you play him?

Detroit have Vrána, Bertuzzi, Fabbri already on the left side.

If Killorn had been a RW I could have understood your reasoning but left wing is not a position where Detroit have any roster spots open.

Tampa has basically no cap issues this coming off-season. If Killorn was to be made available, Tampa would not be paying anyone to move him

No, Killorn will likely return at least a 2nd, if not a little.more. Tampa doesn't have to move him for one, and secondly, a player like him isn't a negative value cap dump. He would ha e value, maybe not to Detroit but Tampa laughs at any team thinking they are getting him for free or with sweeteners.

Agreed, while Detroit may not be the best fit, if Tampa decided to move him, a 2nd+mid pick or prospect seems at least what Tampa could get for him.
