Vegas doesn't do that trade, they'd see no benefit from acquiring Ferland unless a cap hit is moved out, likely Dadonov, maybe Carrier.

Lucic is from East Vancouver... he was almost got traded to VAN, Eriksson just wouldn't waive for EDM.

I love Miller but I wouldn't even do this if you replaced Mangiapane with Monahan. Rentals just don't carry this type of value.

I think the Flames window is largely here. A trade like this makes them just as good, if not better. It will be hard to move Lucic as his 10 teams will likely be contenders who won't have space to take him on and the Flames may be slightly talented next year unless Pelletier, Vakamaki, etc make the jump.

I personally don't believe Pasta is available despite the rumor mill getting excited over a player with 1 year left.

I would not like the Canucks to give up those pieces as you laid out given they are NHL regulars. And besides Mangiapane/Boeser comp, the other players are doing well in the NHL where as those have yet to take the step. Don't get me wrong, Pelletier looks like he will be sweet to watch on the ice.

Though if I were a Flames fan, I'd probably want them team to offer Mangiapane, Zary, Pelletier and Lucic for Pasta. Canucks window just isn't here as much as they want to force it.

A few things here.
1. Adding JT Miller would be a great move, not arguing that
2. Whether you personally believe Pasta is available or not is irrelevant
3. Pelletier and Zary are fairly similar caliber prospects to Nils and Pod despite Calgary not bringing them up right away
4. Looch's has already waived his clause twice and he's not chasing a cup at this point, hell he might even retire after his last signing bonus
