The diff in value between Kerfoot and Puljujarvi is not Engvall, so that's how you know you've done something wrong.

different situations garner different values, kerfoot is a 50 point player that plays every forward posistion who makes only 750k in actual dollars, very valuable piece. Puljujarvi isnt valued by edmonton management and thats quite obvious, also i hope we arent prentending that engvall didnt match puljujarvis production this year

Personally, I think Kerfoot 50 pts are boosted by playing with two 80 Pt players this year. Maybe you can probably still get a late 2nd for him, but I think it'll look more like the Andreas Johnson trade.

Engvall did almost match PPs production in like 15 more games, PP was on pace for about 45 pts but played with McD and Kane.

PP is taking the prototypical powerforward route of really solid advanced stats and taking longer to actually produce. I just think if you offered Edmonton Engvall+late 2nd, other teams would be smashing that with way better offers. It's not about what is fair for PP, you'd be entering a bidding war with almost all the teams in the league. I think most people would agree that JPP is on the verge of becoming a 2nd line powerfwd.

kerfoot played on every forward line this year so thats not true at all, also we will see about puljujarvi but i do agree hes a valuable piece on the brink of breaking out but i do think edmonton doesnt value him as highly as they should

He might have stepped foot on more lines, but he spent the vast majority of his time with JT and Nylander.

At even strength in the regular season, his top four linemates were..
John Tavares - 642:34 mins
William Nylander - 551:27 mins
David Kampf - 158:55 mins
Ilya Mikheyev - 158:18 mins
with everyone else below this total.

They were most definitely his linemates this year, so I think it actually is not "not true at all".

Maybe that's because they were weighed down with a winger who had just had two seasons of scoring 23 and 28 points lol.

In any case, like I said I think you could get a 2nd for Kerfoot, but I don't think a 2nd and Engvall gets Puljujarvi. If you and I can see he could be on the brink of breaking out, NHL GMs can too and someone will pony up more.
