Signing Palat would be a terrible move, need to get younger. I do like the Graves trade

Who else would fit in that spot without giving up pick 13 though? A little bit more cap space and I’d say Burakovsky

no shot at the isles trading vary within division if they decided to move him at all.

Wahlstrom , trade for Puljujarvi. Wahlstrom is the ideal candidate.

I’m so sick of overpaying more mediocre talent lol

We’d still need RW3, I don’t wanna pay for Puljujarvi to do that. Is there anyone else we could get?

i agree w db1899, pulju is the guy. relatively low acquisition cost, not going to cost more than 4mil against the cap, high upside.

def not going to cost a first. i’d think a second and a third would do it. lou won’t, but they should just offersheet him in the 2nd rounder threshold. edmonton can’t keep him if they want kane anyway

Puljujarvi is an elite play driver under the age of 25 on the verge of breaking out, hey wouldn’t you want to do that?

Say less then. I’d do that over Palat but I was told by others he would cost pick 13 lol. I’d definitely do that

____ - Brazal - Wally - Here you can plug in a FA or do you go Bellows or Beau?
Lee - Nelson - ____ - Bellows is a natural RW so maybe he goes here.
    Parise - Pageau - Parm

We don't need a RW, we need a LW scorer. No one is taking Parm off our hands and I'm not in favor of dealing Beau at 24. Lambert is suppose to be opening up the offense a bit more then Barry.
Either way, Bailey has to be traded.

Puljujarvi is one of the best play drivers in the NHL. He’s the next Nichuskin. Copp is going to be 28 and wants a 5 year deal, no thanks. If isles don’t get younger they will be the most mediocre team for the next 5-7 years. Hockey purgatory

Nah nvm, I’ll take Puljujarvi as long as pick 13 stays, but I’ve been told by some people on here pick 13 needs to go the other way

I just don't see that in Puljujarvi. He played on an Edmonton team that was only offense and playing with the 2 top players in the league. If he can't put up some sort of numbers than I don't know what to say. He is a RFA, you are going to have to pay him and you won't get the offensive production playing for the isles....so be careful of what you think you are getting.

yeah i can’t imagine he costs 13OA based on what seravalli said yesterday (the oilers prefer yamamoto and he thinks yamamoto would return a better package). i think he’s the player with the lowest acquisition cost that still has really high upside, i think the isles really need to take a stab at getting him.

I don't think so. Edmonton doesn't have cap space to re-sign him. Why give the more, they have NO leverage. Holland already said in the media that he won't be able to keep this team together due to the cap issues. No way I offer that much

Both Mcdavid and Draisaitl scored at a much higher rate when the played with Puljujarvi. The only downside right not to puljujarvis game is his finishing ability , but he’s only 23 and it will likely improve. Stanley cup contending teams exploit market inefficiencies and target players on the verge of breaking out. Colarado did it with Nichuskin and Burakovsky, Tampa did it with Cernak.

Last year I proposed Bellows , and two 2nds for Troy terry and was told it would be a bad move for the isles. It was so easy to predict he would breakout this season. Would you give that up for Troy terry right now?

I'll be honest, I didn't know much about Terry last year. But I probably would have done back then Bellows and a 2nd. At the time Bellows valve was higher in the Isles system. I think at this time, we need to develop our young players and give them a chance to have a "Breakout season" but you have to play Bellows and Wally full-time all next year. Both can shot, both you see have that nack to score. They just need playing time in my opinion.

Let's actually try developing some of our own instead of paying through the teeth for someone else when you may already have someone like that.

But bellows really hasn’t done anything to make you think he’ll breakout, and I blame part of that on the isles org and the way he was developed. He’s 24 and times running out for him. The thing with Bellows is he doesn’t drive play, he’s not a good passer so he he needs to play with a center that can create space for him and set him up for shots. If he was 2 years younger I’d be more patient with him.

Wahlstrom on the other hand I agree with you. He had an elite rookie season considering his age and ice time. Had a great 2-3 months last year until Trotz decided to bury him for whatever reason. He should be given 15-17 min TOI next season. He still has a very good chance at being a 30 G scorer.

Puljujarvi has a skillset that the isles lack. Isles have too many passengers that can’t drive play in the right direction. Play drivers are just as important as “snipers”
