Yandle was brutal last year. My guess is that he retires. Id be all for the Carlo trade if Boston accepts.

Buffs second is pretty high. Would only be moving down 18 spots. Olofsson replaces Perron on the power play - will be a significantly cheaper option too so they can explore other FA options on D
Think the value is right there - if the blues dont at least counter for slightly more return (i.e. Floridas 1st 2022), then St Louis is dumb

Olofsson is worth more than the 18 spots between 23 and 41. Toropchenko and Ruotsalainen are an even swap. Sabres pass

Everyone thought that about Anderson too lol - I think we just sign some old vet for 3 LD or resign Pysyk for 4 RD and play Bryson 3 LD; I like Yandle to mentor the young guys for PP since he was so good there for years

Olofsson would not play on the Blues, at least not every game, and they/we love Toropchenko

Interesting choices on those goalie's, Fucale has turned his career around a bit there in Washington playing for there AHL Team. And Hill it's time to see if he can be that goalie, can he be a 1A or high 1B or is he just a backup, he's at that age, I would take a shot with him

I dont have any reason to do it, theres nothing at 23 in the draft that im super stoked on and I kinda want Buffalo to reach with 28 and 41 anyway for 2 kids that arent generally picked in those spots. Id rather just keep Olofsson's minimum 45-50 points and see if he stays healthy and hits 60+ points

Yandle and Jokiharju is absolute nightmare fuel. That's just asking to get caved in every shift.

He’s not taking any spot in the top-9, maybe Barbashev I guess. Big drag at 5v5 play and the blues don’t need any help on the PP. He’s like exactly the player archetype the blues don’t need any more of.

Perron will be cheaper than olfosson fs. at best around the same price

I said if Perron does not resign. You could do the following - Kyrou Oreilly Buch L1; Olo Thomas Tarasenko L2, Saad Schenn Barby L3

Haha now he's good enough to play top line with ROR??? Dude... Frenchy will be back and Olofsson is a poor man's Hoffman. He doesn't fit the Blues style at all and they have zero use for him. Everything about this trade idea goes directly against the Blues' needs.

All indications point to Perron re-signing with the blues. If he doesn't I'd rather just use Neighbors on the third line and move Kyrou up to take Perron's spot. Blues should be using their first on a LHD and not another winger. If we were to make this trade Oloffson would be playing on the third line which I don't think will maximize his skillset

The Blues are overflowing with offense on the wings and already looking to add to its LD stable/prospect base.

Sigh** like I said, this frees up money for D signings in UFA - i.e Chiarot? Olo likely signs a 4x4.5 which is 3M less than Perron will likely get - 3 x 7.5M. Then spend the extra 3M on guys like Chiarot, Leddy, De Haan

They COULD go either way and keep Perron instead. Just thought this was an OPTION

I KNOW; this doesnt show what the Blues would do with the extra money they save by getting Olo, the cheap Hoffman. They could pass on Perron and sign a D like Chiarot with the money saved. Or pursue someone else on D via trade - i.e Chychrun

This trade was just an OPTION and one piece of the PUZZLE to do what you are planning

Don't think Perron will get 7.5 million. He turned down more money to come to stl the last time so I'd expect him to do the same thing again. He will come in around 5 mil tops. If anything the blues will try to re-sign Leddy but don't think they will go into the UFA market for a D-man. They will most likely trade for one and dump Scandella in the process. If the blues can't sign Perron they will most likely run internal options and won't look to replace him. Neighbors is one our top prospects so they will give him a shot on the third line and move one of Schenn/Barbashev/Kyrou up to the first line.
