Honestly not the worst return for Pasta but I think the Bruins counter by asking for a 2023 1st instead of the 2024 2nd, and Holloway instead of Bourgault. Boston would probably retain half in that scenario as well.

Not really imo. It's essentially two 1sts (Bourgault was a good pick, he's quite valuable), a 2nd (which could easily turn into a 1st with Pasta playing alongside Mcdavid/Draisaitl), a 5th, a defensive prospect that could be a bottom pair NHLer, and a cap dump winger who could feasibly rebound into a 3rd liner on a new team. It's not an Earth-shattering return but it's not bad either.

See the kind of things you’re talking about here. Late firsts. Guys that could turn into bottom pair players. That doesn’t move the needle. Quantity over quality.

That's fair, so I presume you'd like something more along the lines of the Eichel return? (Top 6 forward, potential top 6 forward prospect, mid 1st rounder, 2nd rounder).

Bourgault doesn't look like much but he's one of the best shooters in his class. No reason he can't turn into another Pasta he's got elite potential, Samorukov is a good defensive prospect that got buried by Tippett his first game. Foegele I think would fit the Bruins style of play really well and can use a more supportive role. 10-15 goal scorer on third line isn't terrible. And you're only ever going to get mid to late 1st rounders for him. No building team is trading for him. Especially if he's for sure not re-signing and teams can offer him money as a UFA anyways. If he's FOR SURE not signing with Bruins I don't think this is a bad trade overall.

Personally i just want one premium future that can turn into a center. The Krebs type would be nice. Don’t care about the tuch type.

Well, there’s nothing to indicate that he’s, “for sure,” not going to re-sign. And there also isn’t much to that argument. Bidding in UFA drives prices sky high, and you might miss out on the player all together.
Plenty of contending teams have good prospects. And there are some teams looking to shift out of a rebuild that have good picks.

If the bruins are trading pastrnak, they don’t care at all about guys that could be third liners.

The whole, “no reason he can’t turn into the next pastrnak,” thing is kind of ridiculous. You can say that about any prospect.
