To avoid deciding between Kapanen, Zucker and Heinen to play in the top 6.

I like the moves overall; big fan of signing Nuke if the space is there. IMO they should just bury Poolman if they have that kind of cap space rather than paying draft capital to get rid of him.

Pens decline, shed more off that Myers contract and maybe you’ve got a deal

Wouldn’t complain if we got Nemec or Jiricek at 5 but with Fletcher as GM, I would think we could rob them of a bit more

I’d love to have nichushkin in Van but not at anywhere close to that price, max id wanna offer is 4.5 per year. He’s a solid middle 6 forward who put up career numbers this year because he got to play with Mackinnon.

I'm certainly worried about that but I think continuing in an offensive role would lead to similar results. He's getting the most ice time of his career by 5 mins, first time getting more offensive zone starts than D zone and resulting in more shots without an outlier type jump in shot percentage. And he's a beast. Maybe closer to Hyman's deal but I'm sure Colorado wants him back too so it might take a bit more.

I agree I’m just worried the offense will dry up again without the superstars he’s playing with in Colorado and if we’re paying him 6m he’s gonna have to provide offense as well as the defensive side of his game otherwise it’s Loui Eriksson 2.0

I'm not sure what his health will be like. It doesn't seem like he is in a position like Ferland. AZ does need RHD. They have barely 4 AHLers and a couple with potential currently. It might not take anything to move him.

I'm with you, but would be surprised if the ideal was to bury the pool guy just because he is still an NHL calibre defender, I think that if we were to build his value we could get more. If we were to bury a guy for the rest of his contract I would actually prefer Dickinson as his is shorter and think that poolman might be the new ferland
