Don't think we get Pasta without Wahlstrom and Raty going the other way, plus 1st rounders. Beau is a UFA in 2 years time and around the same age as Pasta, if they blow up and rebuild they should exclusively want guys on ELCs

Honestly the Boston trade isn’t terrible probably need to have Wahlstrom though, but Seattle isn’t paying a 2nd and 4th for Bailey

You could literally propose McDavid for Wahlstrom, Raty, and a first and NYI fans would say that Wahlstrom and Raty are untouchable. This package is a first and a whole lot of nothing, not at all close for Pastrnak

Pastrank and Debrincat are the only two forwards potentially available in a trade that is worth trading Wahlstrom/Raty for. Anyone else, guys like JT miller, Fiala, P. Kane aren't worth it and there's a strong argument for it.

agreed i like Beau but he would need to be the 4th/5th piece in a deal for Pasta not the 2nd piece. Deal definitely starts with 13OA+ Wahlstrom+
im sure if they went full rebuild they would take on bailey's contract as well for a pick or something

There is an argument for it but strong is debatable. All of the guys you listed are bonafide stars in the league and would instantly become the Islanders' best player if they joined, Wahlstrom is a guy who has had three promising but not incredible seasons

Pastrnak and Debricnat would be the isles best player, the other 3 are not better than Barzal. I wouldn't pick up Patrick Kane on waivers and Miller is due for some serious regression. Fiala is great but he's not better than Barzal.

Do people just not watch or follow the rest of the league????? Miller just had a 99 point season and is 28, Fiala > ppg without a real center for half the year, kane 92 points on one of the worst teams in the league. Points aren't everything but look at any war/gsva/gar stat and all three of those guys have been consistently above Barzal the last three years.

Barzal has by far the worst quality of teammates out of any of those players. During the 20-21 season when Barzal had competent linemates he had a higher WAR/GAR/SPAR than Kane, Miller, and Fiala.

Kane plays with arguably the best lw in the game. Miller had a high PDO and plays with a ton of elite PP specialists. I'd bet Barzal is significantly better than Miller and Kane next season.
