Sorry for your vomit but could you elaborate? Keep in mind there’s 31 other teams picking players as well, so you can’t line up your 5 favourites

i just hate this trevor timmins model of drafting. Thin somewhere? Let's just use 80% of our picks on that spot and hope one of em pans out

Fair point but Habs have a lot of depth at LD. Goalies Primeau, Dobes & Dichow are above average. Habs are extremely thin at RD. The fact they signed Chris Wideman for 2 yrs, tells me Petry is gone. Habs do need a winger but I went through all team needs and by the time Habs selected that was the best available player. I’m also not a fan of Timmins. I told Timmins not to draft David Fisher in 2006 & also strongly told him to draft Ryan O’reilly in 2009, as he was in my summer camps and I knew he would have a good career. He ignored me both times. So I’m definitely not a fan of Timmins.

You appear to have been a scout for the Habs based on a comment above so this is some interesting inside. I just wonder about the upside of the picks. I quite like warren especially at 65 but, he and lamoroux are bottom pair guys maybe 2 pair if everything works for warren but I don’t really like lamoroux, kinda awkward out there and not great at much. Goyette is solid but will be be anything more than a decently skilled third line passer(basically drouin). Chesley is solid especially considering our lack of good rhd prospects but he’s rhd version of guhle( not as tough though)

I’d have to see every other pick you made but guys like firkus, lambert(who knows teams are weird some times) miroschnichenko, gleb etc... have much higher upside

I wouldn’t mind a safe pick and a swing but grabbing 3 shut down rhd and a 3 line passer at best isn’t the best use of resources in my opinion

Also we have two seconds...

I coached & scouted from 1992 until 2015. I could have continued but my kids needed me more at home during their teenage years. I had a decent size summer camp from 1998 until 2014 and that’s where I met most of the players as my camps included mental training & dryland training.

On draft day so many parts change so who knows who is available once it’s your turn. 50% of drafted players play in the NHL. I believe long term (3 to 4 years) the Habs are Ghule, Barron, Romanov, Mailloux, Harris. 5,6,7 should include Arber on the left & one of the 3 RD’s.

Plus of the 5 players I mentioned only Wright has shot of playing right away, so other 4 have time to develop.

Chesley will need at least 3 years at NCAA to work on his offensive game. I’m not saying he will absolutely go 29th. He’s in that range. I also know the Leafs have been looking at Calle Odelius. So who knows where he goes.

David Goyette. Lost a full year of development in OHL because of lockdown, yet he played mostly as 1st line C for Sudbury. Excellent speed and possession game.

Maveric Lamoureux 6’7” 210 lbs. has a mean streak. Blocks pucks, gets in lanes, long reach. Not much offense. Needs to work on his pivots.

Noah Warren 6’5” 224 lbs. another nasty mean D. his strength is in his zone. From half wall down he shines. He gets in lanes. For a big player he needs to work on his shot, his feet positioning and when to pinch.

My top 5 picks (if still available)

1. Wright
2. Miroshnichenko (he is back training so not as much risk now)
3. Trikozov
4. Kyrou (I think he will be a steal at 62. 60 points in 66 games in what is basically his first season in the OHL and he's a RHD! Sign me up!)
5. Warren would be an ok pick here but that's only cause there are so many unknown variables through this draft with some leagues being shutdown for basically 2 years.

Good choices. I’ve seen Kyrou a lot in Erie. I like his game. The OHL shutdown hurt a lot of players development.
