Wow that trochek contract is bad

Maybe if Stud pans out to be a 3rd line c, we can shift Coyle to wing and trade Smith

That Trocheck deal scares me. 8 million is 1C money but Trocheck is not, and has never been asked to be, a 1C. And putting him on the wing does nothing to solve the problem long term of having no center depth. If you sign him 5×6ish, maybe.
Also Zboril was resigned to be here in the starting 6D, I think Clifton sits behind him on the depth chart.

The idea is Trocheck would slide to C once Bergy is gone, but I get the point. However, Trocheck is the best available option this year, so he'll have to do.

That’s no logic to sign a horrible contract. He’s a $5.5M guy at most.

More importantly, you’ve got a problem here. You’ve got three guys in this lineup…including the bruins two best players…that are probably going to miss about 30 games. Something pretty special would have to happen for the bruins to make the playoffs.

Or trade coyle.

I mean, more cap, but Coyle did better than Smith in the playoffs
