Has there been a legit rumor about Dach being moved and not just KDP throwing something against the wall?

Take far more than DeBrusk and Studnicka to get Kirby Dach out of Chicago.

If he's truly available Detroit could easily blow away that offer and not even bat an eyelash.

I did see Chicago is looking to shuffle the deck, and I think that swap makes sense for both clubs. I think Boston could use a young C with potential and they both are in similar positions, needing youth influx of talent. This is an all in type of moves while transitioning to some youth, as well. These moves pave the way for financial flexibility as well as giving them picks to make moves necessary or full on kick start their system.

very well could. I'm not sure that they will even move him, given the year he had I think that might be adequate value.

Debrusk has 2 years left then is a free agent not to mention 26 at the start of next season...neither fit the rebuilding cap window. Studnicka isn't exciting. Easy pass from the Hawks

LOL how does that make sense for the Hawks? See my comment above and it clearly doesn't make sense.

Debrusk is a young goal scorer, I think a lot of teams would have interest in him and the way he plays. The only reason he could be dealt was the trade request he submitted. Dach is younger for sure, but also might be riskier than Debrusk given his last year he had. I think Dach fits Bostons Need, and Debrusk fits a Chicago need

I think it’s more of a shuffle of the deck and you can accrue valued assets in moving Carlo while Manson is just $$$ you’re dishing out.

Shuffle the deck? Its a horrid downgrade. I agree that going after Dach is a good idea, because he has upside but his value is lower than most with that kind of upside. But you realize you’ve made the team worse right? This ACGM absolutely torches the top four, signs bad contracts (Manson, Perron, and maybe even Dach), and the centers might not even be upgraded. Haula and Coyle are both better than Dach at this moment. Krejci is a complete unknown. If I was in Bergeron’s shoes, and saw these moves, I wouldn’t even consider coming back.

Debrusk doesn't fit Chicago's needs as I explained earlier. He's a 2 year rental which is worthless to a team in a rebuild that will take at least 2 years. Chicago owns nothing in terms of Debrusk in 2 years as a he becomes a UFA. Why in the world would Chicago trade a promising young 21 year old guy in Dach who's a RFA and they own his career rights right now for 26 year old 2 year rental? It simply make zero sense to Chicago. It seems to me you don't understand the difference between a UFA and RFA and why in a rebuild you rarely see teams giving up a RFA for a UFA rental.

And it's a way worse trade for Chicago. Trading a 21 year old RFA with big upside for a 26 year old 2 year rental for a team that is rebuilding is absolutely stupid. The only way Chicago wins this trade is if they flip Debrusk for significant draft capital and Dach never develops into a top 6 center which is extremely high risk for a rebuilding team.

I don’t think that trade is a fit for chicago, but value wise its fine. Dach hasn’t shown much. Also, no one in that trade is 26, and a 2 year rental isn’t a thing. Its a guy with term.

Actually, DeBrusk is 26 at the start of the next season and that's all that matters at this point...he's not playing hockey for any team at the age of 25 at this point. A 2 year rental is a thing; meaning he's carrying short term and is a rental for 2 years because he's a UFA not a RFA.

I don't agree that the value is there. Dach has a lot of upside and has had to deal with a broken wrist but that doesn't mean the upside is gone at the age of 21. Debrusk you know what you're getting. Studnika you largely do as well; with Dach the sample size is small and flawed due to injury. If this was say a playoff team that owned dach then you might be right, but for any rebuilding team especially or any young team this doesn't nail it value wise.

if you can say dach's sample size is small and flawed due to injury i can say studnicka's sample size is small and flawed due to a coaches unwillingness to play him for extended periods of games. he has 37 games in the nhl idk what his active game played streak is but how do you get any sort of rhythm/chemistry without playing every day? blidh ultimately said the same thing... he 100% should have been playing over foligno this year.

Not saying that might not be the case, but there's more to it I'm sure. I haven't watched enough of Studnicka in the AHL to say you are right or wrong, only simply trusting the coaches see something they don't like which is vastly different then a player wrestling with a broken wrist and coming back from that at the age of 20 as a center of all things.

Sure. But you said he was 26, and he isn’t. Again, already said the fit wasn’t right, but the value certainly is. Dach hasn’t been good at the NHL level. Debrusk has.

studnickas been pretty solid in the AHL. He just hasnt had IMMEDIATE success. ide say big picture biggest issue is they likely want him at the 3c role but coyle cant elevate as a 2c.

I´m confused...

The only reason to sell Carlo would be to attain something the Bruins otherwise can´t get hold of - a real talented young center - so why not offer Carlo and DeBrusk for Dach (according to KDP: s suggestion)?
Studnicka and Gryz, maybe even Smith, would give the B´s a couple of second rounders instead! ((Two second rounders for Carlo is a veritable flee market!))

I said for a 26 year old, because that is the age the Hawks would be getting him on the ice at...it's just objectively true. Being 25 between now and the season start has zero impact on the trade and is irrelevant. No need to harp on it as it objectively holds no value

It's 1000% objectively true as it applies to the value in the trade LMAO This shouldn't be so hard for you to understand. Debrusk will not play another game at the age of 25, therefore his age of 25 is irrelevant to a team evaluating him...he is 26 the next time he steps on the ice...that's all that matters.
