I’m not sure MN does this. We have smallerish D already, feels like we’d only trade Jesper for a C.

I guess that makes sense. Do the Wild have any upcoming D prospects outside of Addison?

I am assuming it would be a C of similar caliber

Don't you think Rossi would fit that role? Jesper serves a purpose. I doubt he gets dealt unless it's an overpay.

Agreed which is why I sent more value over. I doubt that gets a deal done but in my mind it was

Wallstedt > Niemelia
2nd (64) << 1st (27)
Warren << Kallgren

But again if the Wild dont need D then it doesnt make sense for them

I know Detroit wouldn't trade Cossa. Why would Minny trade Wallstedt?

Yeah, we’ve got about 5/6 D prospects coming up, mostly LHD though. Yeah, I think it’d have to be a C of equal or more standing to trade our goalie of the future.

Rossi could fill one C role, but there’s another C role still open. Right now our centers are projected to be Hartman C1, Rossi/Gaudreau C2, Ek C3, Jost C4. Rossi has been exposed defensively down the middle(in the AHL), so if he doesn’t sure up his defense, I could see them moving him to wing. Outside of Rossi, we don’t have any sure fire top 6 C prospects.

The wild have O'Rourke, Peart, and Lambos, plenty of quality D prospects

I don't think Guerin gives up the best (speculated) goaltender prospect when he continues to say goaltending has been an issue.

Agreed. The only way he would, IMO is if a legit top 6 C prospect became available and Jesper was the cost.

Why would the wild trade arguably the best goaltending prospect on the planet when they have no other future in net???

Minny isn’t trading Walldstat. They have no reason to trade him unless it’s a massive overpay, which this isn’t. If you want goalie prospects, phone up Nashville.

Like others said, Minnesota isn't trading wallstedt. Minnesota wouldn't be one adding here. Wallstedt is one of the top G prospect in the world and won't trade him for a d they don't need, a g Toronto signed because they had g problems this past year

Listen. I know y’all got fleeced the last time you traded your first round goalie prospect, but that doesn’t mean you have to fleece others

I still think a top 6 center prospect is a no. Now, if the wild could some how get a true no 1 established center, I think jesper COULD be included in that trade package.

Interesting, those top 6 C prospects rarely become available. That’s why I’d consider it, for the right C prospect. An established C, absolutely agree. It does feel like Jesper has the makings of a special goalie.

Absolutely not. Not only is Wallstedt a lot more promising than Niemelä, Minnesota already has a plethora of D-prospects, like Addison, Lambos and smaller names such as O'Rourke and Hunt. Minnesota doesn't even consider this.
