I literally just explained that. Marleau was dealt due to circumstance, TOR needed the money to re-sign Marner, and Marleau wasn't really willing to play anywhere else, hence the options to deal him were very scarce, basically only those who could've afford to buy him out.

There's no need for that kind of money with any of the teams in the league right now, so you can't really "abuse" their situations.
