The Jets aren't trading Dubois and this obviously doesn't tempt them as there is neither enough value or team needs met.

The Jets need right shot top 6 forwards and right shot top 4 defensemen. Anything left shot outside of Power is of little or no value to the Jets.

So, a deal for Dubois would need to be built around Dahlin, Cozens, Quinn or Power.

No deal, he is not worth trading one of those guys. Dahlin, Power and Cozens are supposed to be backbone of this franchise for next 10+ years.
Quinn did not show anything, yet, but I doubt Sabres will trade him before giving him ice time in NHL

I would consider Krebs being part of bigger trade.

Good luck with that, what about Krebs

Cool. No deal to be made then. You want a young, star player, it will cost you a young star player.

No interest. The Jets might as well keep the better player.

No luck needed. You're asking for a young star player, it will cost you a young star player.

Counter proposal. You trade us Cozens for 14OA + Svech + 2022 3rd round pick. Deal?

You are acting like we are trading for a 100pt player, he's broke 60 once. No way would Dahlin or Power even enter the convo. And Krebs is gonna be good

You are acting like the Jets want and have to trade Dubois. They don't. If you want Dubois it is going to cost you a piece you don't want to lose. It's not going to be a first and a player you want to dump. You'd have to give Winnipeg an incentive to do it.

An offer where the Jets have to get extremely lucky to just break even, won't do it. Buffalo is asking for Dubois, they'd need to ante up to start a conversation.

Think 9 would get the convo started. Tage Thompson just had a better year than Dubois has ever had and he's in a better contract situation. So if Winnipeg called on him is Perfetti and Stanley or one of your young guns in the picture. I would probably say No from you guys

One fluke year by an older player in sheltered minutes doesn't suddenly put Thomson on Dubois' level.

Considering Dubois was a 3rd overall pick that was traded for a 2nd overall pick, the 9th pick isn't interesting without a significant add. The odds of the Jets getting as good a player as Dubois is at 9 are slim to none.

In your opinion, why would the Jets start talking about moving Dubois for 9OA? It's a given that's good for Buffalo, I get that. But what's in it for Winnipeg?

They were drafted the same year, there like 5 months apart in age, and Thompson was playing 1C this year. Because it will get the Convo started and then you work from there.

Except that Dubois has been in the NHL playing at a top 6 level since 2017, while Thompson hasn't.

Anyways, but with the 9OA,what else can Buffalo add that Winnipeg needs? The only thing I can see is one of the 4 I mentioned and you don't want to move them, so the converstion would end fairly quickly.

I could see maybe Quinn, because really we would be getting Dubois to play with Cozens in the first place.

Okay, now we're getting somewhere. At least Quinn is a right shot. I think it would come down to what the Jets think of Quinn, who is available at 9 and what the other offers are.

Extremely unlikely, but that is worth pondering at least.
