I’ve been against it from the first time i saw it posted here… but over time I’ve come around to not completely hating it. Wanting to see what Nashville would look like in a Jeannot trade

Kunin slides down to Jeannots roster spot. They’re both physical players and this puts Kunin in the lineup where he belongs (out of the top 6). Nylander Johansen Tomasino could be a killer line. The fourth line would be heavily sheltered similar to tomasino this last season. If they show good chemistry, they could push the sissons line down.

All in all I like the way the team looks. Losing Jeannot would hurt as I think he played a big role in helping to get the team into the playoffs but what happens when L’Heureux is nhl ready? I can’t see them icing both players as we would never leave the penalty box.

I would be completely good with this. I don’t wanna lose jeannot just like every Nashville fan but nylander has the skills we need for our 2nd line and if losing a some grit and physicality then so be it

Yeah, zero chance this happens. This probably isn't what a Nylander trade would look like if it did happen. In general, teams shouldn't give up assets for players like Jeannot. It's easier to find those kinds of players internally and through development.

As a leaf guy, I’d do this in a min but I don’t think Nashville does it straight up realistically.

Fixed it for you.

Jeannot's blend of physicality and offense is a rather rare commodity around the NHL. When teams find one of these guys, they tend not to want to part with them. How often do you see Caps fans trying to trade away Wilson around here?

I think the Leafs are going to run it back like they have said, even though obviously they aren't going to say otherwise.

However, I WOULD really like to see this. Also frees up 4.7 million in cap, which would be interesting to see how they use that. Both are RFAs when deals up. If there's a Willy trade to be had, I would love to see this in play.

I know as a Nashville fan I’ve shot down the idea more than once. It’s hard to find grit and scoring ability but the more I look at that hole on the second line the more I think nylander makes sense (even if he isn’t a physical player). We still have Trenin, Sissons, and Kunin who are very physical players and L’Heureux making his way through the system.
