Description

With one year left on his contract, Jim Nill tries to build on the core of this team and make it a Cup contender while also tactically managing the roster to keep core players long-term and make room for top prospects coming up. The team has drafted pretty well in recent years (except for the Eriksson pick), so they decide to not trade any picks. Rick Tocchet is hired as head coach (not my choice, but appears to be the guy since they almost replaced Bowness with his at the AS break).

Hintz signs a long-term extension and Robertson and Oettinger sign bridge contracts that expire at the same time as Benn and new free agent signing Perron.

Buy out Suter and play Lundkvist. Or better yet, improve the offer and go fetch Schneider. He has no place to go on the Top 4 in NY with Fox and Trouba already there and signed for multiple years.
