I would want either a better player or Pick in that Dallas trade. Would still be taking 4m in cap

Separate the Pens trade into 2 separate deals,
then you’ll be able to get the values better

2 things though
1- do the want Hornqvist back, even at half price?
2- it’s doubtful they’d give up a 1st to get rid of Zucker

It’s not that far off

Dumoulin gets you a 2nd at best, maybe only a 3rd
What’s Hornqvist worth at half price? A 3rd?
So that swap is close to being even

And to get rid of Zucker, it’s gonna cost you a 2nd
So less that a 1st, but not too far off

Your counter proposal is straight up trolling

It won’t cost anything to get out of Zuckers contract lol. Anyone that thinks it would simply doesn’t watch hockey outside of their own team. But it’s par for the course here when it comes to pens players lol. They said it would take at least a 2nd to get rid of Gudbranson, at least a 2nd to get rid of Bjugstad, at least a 1st to get rid of Hornqvist, etc. The pens always seem to find a way to not have to pay to get rid of player. Zucker is better than all of those players. Why would the pens spend a 1st and a top 4 defenseman just to bring back Hornqvist? Who by the way they traded because he doesn’t fit here anymore. He is way too slow.

No there isn’t a big difference between those cap hits lol. So it doesn’t make a difference.
The only difference that is there is Zucker only has 1 year left on his contract. Whereas Hornqvist had 3, Gudbranson had 2, Pearson had 2. And also the stats accumulated with Pittsburgh in the previous year with Pittsburgh, which Zucker had one of the best between all of their recent players that everyone on here claimed would cost at least a 2nd to get rid of.

He’s not a cap dump and I don’t think the pens would be upset to keep him. He’s a leader and gives 150% every shift. I’m sorry that your narrative is terrible but obviously teams pay for pens cap dumps since I just gave you multiple examples that have happened recently. 🤷‍♂️

I go to Pens games (in Pittsburgh) every single year- i have family in the Pittsburgh area
And i often cheer for them in the playoffs, since my Sabres have been terrible

Zucker is beat up & has missed significant time 3 years in a row now- missing half the season or more in the last 2 years

U really think you’re gonna get something, for a 30+ year old goal scorer, who:
-doesn’t score at the rate he used to (scores at about a 15goal per full season pace now)
-misses half the season with injury
-costs a 5.5mil cap hit (eliminating many teams that simply can’t fit him in)
-and has a 10years NTC which eliminates even more teams

🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sure pal, good luck with that

He’s a Cap dump
PIT will have to pay to get rid of him

Except i didn’t do that at all
I watch the Pens often enough to know that Zucker is an overpriced shell of his former self who can’t stay healthy

Apparently you are the one who doesn’t watch the Pens very often, bc it’s quite obvious
