Pens are going to need to give up more to get that return. Even when you consider that Parayko played bad and Tarasenko reportedly "still wants out" which makes him more moveable, you'd still need to add more. Essentially you're giving up a worse version or Parayko, two bottom 6 forwards, and a late first. That's simple not enough. Look at it like this.
Think of this trade as two mini trades. Marino Kap and McGinn for Parayko. Why would STL wanna get a downgrade on parayko, in order to add two bottom 6 forwards? They wouldn't.
Then the other mini-offer in this trade is Tarasenko for a late 1st. Which again, isnt enough value.
Overall you'd need to add in POJ and Poulin to make this trade close in value, but at that point the Pens would be giving up a TON of capital for two players, which even though both guys are great, is it really worth giving up all that for two guys? Especially considering its not just 5 players and a pick that are all prospects. 4/5 of those guys are NHL ready right now with the latter being very close...
