Description

The team has been pretty solid so far, but Kassian is so smashed up right now, he is very ineffective, if not a detriment.

Archibald hits anything that moves, except…..the puck…… at the net.

Holloway is ready, he is at least as good as Foegele, but with more skill and offense.

Malone is a big hard-nosed intelligent player who showed some good results vs good teams, including Colorado.

This line-up offers much more potential offense and won’t hurt you on the defensive side.

In my opinion this is the optimal line-up Woodcroft could deploy.

Hell no, he deserves a crown if we win cup!

Keith isn’t the problem it is his cap hit. There should have been a 50% salary retention. Otherwise no Oiler fan has complaints regarding the deal. Keith has been pretty steady, with only a few bad moments and only a handful of bad games.

They were put together due to Draisaitl’s injury. Putting all your eggs in one basket is a very bad idea vs the Avs.

This is the best deployment IF Drai is close to 100%

I completely disagree. One of the few things Colorado lacks is that Jordan Staal, Philip Danault level shutdown Center. Kadri and Mackinnon aren’t even at that two-way level of other stars like Crosby or Bergeron. I don’t think they would have any answer if you put out the Kane-mcjesus-drai line

Woody’s been an actual wizard at moving around his chess pieces, it will be an interesting thing to see how he lines things up.

I think the key to McDavid’s ability to go supernova in the last few games vs LA was because he spread the talent out and did not have load up one line and overplay them. This team has enough depth, if set up properly, to give 29 and 97 more rest, so they don’t burn out from being overplayed and beaten up.

I love this match-up. It will be a very fast-paced series.

But that’s exactly My point. The reason he has to spread out the skill vs LA is because LA had Danault - a top 2 shutdown Center in the league. If he had stacked one line Danault could have shut them down and then there is no more skill for the rest of the lineup. Colorado doesn’t have a Danault so they should stack a line because they won’t be able to shut it down
