Nylander > Scheifele, and Scheif is probably a better fit on the Jets. Rather just not do this trade and not give up Lilj.

The thing to me is that nobody on these boards outside of the most hardcore Jets fans even have any idea how good Chisholm is.

Kovacevic requires waivers next year so if we are opening a third pair spot on the roster on RD it should be for him. He's a late bloomer that I had marked in pen for that finally RD spot before we traded for Schmidt to try to smooth over the room. I'd suggest that we'd want someone with more upside that is going to immediately play in our top 4 on the right side if we are moving 55.

Can't afford Nichuskin with this roster unless you shed more salary.

Stas is a good stop gap but we need to see if Perfetti, Baron or Gus have the chops for a top 6 C role. If they don't than we need Lucius to pan out as a top 6 C.

This isn't what I would hope the Jets do with 55 if they trade him. There's no way we should be interested in a deal where a winger is the major piece returned IMO.

Nylander and Scheifele are essentially the same player, take away Scheifele locker room and personality issues. Also I don't think this really works for the Jets either. Nylander can be signed next year. If he doesn't sign before UFA year, you have to move him. I think trading for any player less than 3 yrs from UFA is always a gamble, but it's bigger for Winnipeg for obvious reasons.
