i'll disagree about semi-auto rifles. i'm for full auto's being illegal.

no one needs a pistol other than for their profession but there is no evidence that legal handgun owners are a problem so i don't support any changes. i am biased on this since i do own handguns.

canadian laws are frustrating because they are made by people who don't understand firearms. usually just for political posturing.

i used to be anti-gun when i was younger but have since changed sides so i do understand where that point of view is coming from.


I agree with you on most of what you said, except semi auto, still think there should be rules on that, maybe no outright ban, but stringent rules.

To an extent you might be right (for example, I don’t really think the idea of carrying around guns helps with anything), but the right to own guns (provided you are not a criminal and are capable of handling a gun properly), is a must.

i dont know about the rest of the world but in canada gun crime is largely driven by illegal guns. i dont know the exact numbers but i do know a toronto police chief estimated that 85% of gun crime involve illegal guns.

you are right about suicides. the overwhelming majority of gun deaths in canada are suicides (80.%) and more should be done about that but removing guns doesn't make someone less suicidal.

A sad, sad day. Something tells me he's either gonna go to GT racing or IndyCar. I would love to see him in IndyCar, since it would bring some very needed publicity.
