A New Hope. The trench run outdoes everything ROTJ could ever hope to do. I really don't like the Tatooine or forest moon arcs of Jedi. The one Dagobah scene we get and the space-side of the Battle of Endor do a LOT of heavy lifting for that movie.

Empire only as a very narrow margin ahead of ANH for me. RotS is probably the third-best film of the franchise, followed by RotJ, TLJ, TPM, TFA, AotC, and TRoS.

Bad take imo. She's a dead ringer for Carrie. I think they cast a bit too young for a ten-year-old, but I was very happy with the first two episodes.

I think they tried too much to give her Anakin's impulsiveness. I mean the girl was kidnapped and almost killed, yet she can't follow Ben to save her own life. Maybe she'll grow on me but once she listens to Obi-Wan.

i have never watched star wars.

i plan to make the effort to watch. should i watch them in order or do you recommend a specific order?

Quoting: capsfan2121
in order
Watch them 1-9

It will make a lot more sense

You should watch everything in release order IMO, including the series. It may be confusing to figure out everything in the timeline because they go back and forth in multiple eras, but it's much more enjoyable and surprising when there are references to other movies.

If we're including RO and Solo then pencil Rogue One atop the list for me please and thanks. It's honestly the best film as a whole in the entire series.

Solo was pretty mid. Not bad but not great.

Gonna have to disagree with you on that one. Except the robot and Darth Vader’s scene at the end I absolutely hated that movie.

To my fellow F1 enthusiasts from the previous thread NoVaSpartan Bobcat205 , here's a question for you.

Can you name the game (year) and the car/driver?

Oh boy, I’ve got absolutely no idea of the driver, but my guess is that it’s a Sauber? I think I remember it from a review of F1 Challenge 98-02.

Edit: just looked at Bobcat’s, and I’m quite annoyed at myself for not getting Kimi, since he was the first driver I was ever a fan of. Oh well

Since there’s a considerable amount of Star Wars fans on here, I’ll ask a question. Which OG movie is better between A New Hope and Return of the Jedi?

On my tier list of favourite Star Wars movies, they’re tied at 2 behind only Empire Strikes Back.

If you want to, you can rank the 3 OG’s instead.

Quoting: LeafsFanForSomeReason
For me it's A New Hope, easily.

Absolutely. Anybody who takes ROTJ over A New Hope is disqualified from all future movie discussions. There hasn't been a single Star Wars episode/show that comes remotely close to matching the quality of The Empire Strikes Back and A New Hope, and with every spinoff/sequel/remake they concoct, it only gets worse.

Every time I try to make it happen, it fails. But sometimes it just happens. If you use a track like Bahrain and just spin someone, stuff sometimes gets wild enough for a barrel roll. Otherwise, I don’t have much advice,

Automotive story time: The STP-Paxton Turbo-Car

unknown.png

This car was entered into the 1967 Indianapolis 500 by famous race car designer Andy Granatelli. Parnelli Jones was tasked with driving her. The car (Nicknamed "Silent Sam" and "The Whooshmobile") ran on a 4-wheel-drive system powered by a gas turbine engine (like what you would see in a jet fighter today) created by United Aircraft of Canada. It produced 550 horsepower at around 6,000 RPM, and had amazing acceleration out of the turns. Her top speed was 14 miles per hour faster than the rest of the field.

She qualified in 6th (outside of the second row) in 1967, took the lead in the exit of turn 2 on lap 1, and never looked back... until a $6 ball-bearing broke in the transmission and the engine lost all power with 3 laps remaining. A.J. Foyt won the race after Jones retired.

I’m disappointed this story wasn’t anywhere in the Indy museum, because this was a very interesting story.

I'd go with ANH but the entire first trilogy and ROTS are all very good.
