I think you overpaid for Roslovic too. I think Jack would take the hometown discount since it's his hometown. The max I'd go would be 4M AAV.

It's a nice idea maybe but Johnson, Marchenko and Chinakov aren't playing and that's a big L for CBJ.

The idea of this signing is for the Jackets to get a 1C. Malkin is not going to get 10 mil from any team. Short term contract works for him and the Jackets. It buys the Jackets a couple of years to develop some of the younger guys while still staying competitive.

As for Johnson and the others in AHL Cleveland, they need to have a lot of ice time. They can’t get that this year in Columbus with the glut of contracts at forward. This would be the perfect move.

Both will be extremely cheap and Bemstrom is not a C he is a RW. With no cap space the Oilers would likely want this because it gives them depth.

No, they'll use their meager cap space to re-sign their own RFA's. Why would they trade for worse players than they already have?
