I don’t think we’d do that
If it was Mittelstadt instead of Cozens, then maybe

MTL is not interested, unless it's Jack Quinn instead of Cozens.

Before you say it's too much, according to draft pick trade value charts, a 1st overall is worth more than a 8th + 9th overall.

Don't laugh, offering bust Mittlestad to jump from 9 to 1 is also funny, don't you think?

Seriously, check trade charts. Unless you think Quinn is worth more than a 8th overall, then those charts would prove me right.

A 8th overall and a 9th overall are pretty close with a 1st in term of value. Quality over quantity.

You're also getting Savard, the defensive D to play with Power you're looking for.

Not interested in the draft pick swap especially if that’s the cost. I would say you can get Savard for a hell of a lot less if you’re interested in picking him up.

Savard is old & not very good- don’t want him

And your trade value chart is useless bc Quinn has increased his value with his great play this season
Also,
the 1st doesn’t have typical 1OA value bc Wright isn’t seen as a typical 1OA talent

Regardless….
Sabres aren’t giving u Quinn to trade up- no way

Savard is 31, it's not that old. I thought Buffalo was looking for a RHD vet. Vet means old.

I said "unless you think Quinn is worth more than a 8th" You should have said he is, instead of saying the chart is useless. If he was still worth a 8th, chart would be right.

Wright is the consensus 1st overall for the last 3 years. While he's not McDavid or Matthews, he should be a very good 1C.

I understand Buffalo won't trade Quinn if he's that good. But MTL won't trade down 8 spot for Mittlestad or even Cozens. Those are 2C at best, but probably 3C.

Keeping the best player in the trade, Shane Wright.

That's not how trading works.

Hilarious. Buffalo fans think that MTL would ever give up the number 1OA in Montreal for that package lmao @the delusion

That doesnt even make sense. Savard is part of the trade, the pieces are intertwined. The mental gymnastics here are impressive.

Quinn picked 8th overall
Cozens picked 7th overall
Mitts picked 8th overall

So according to the trade chart that YOU are using as evidence of it being a fair trade, then Cozens or Mitt’s would work as good as Quinn by YOUR LOGIC

Seems like more of an RNH quality #1 pick
Which is still good, just not 1oa typical quality

That’s a months old narrative
Dahlin switched to RD late in the season & looked great

So acquiring a RD is no longer imperative, but more like a bonus IF we found the right guy, at the right price
Otherwise, we’re in ok shape

And “old” may have been a lazy word choice on my part
More specifically, i meant “declining”

Are you dense? I’m not interested in what it would take to trade up in the draft. If the Sabres were interested in trading for Savard alone they certainly would not have to pay anything close to what this trade suggests. I’m not even sure he’s worth a second round pick on his own.

I don't think age matters when we talk about declining. Letang is 36 and still as good.

Savard is still the same good defensive physical D he was when TB paid a 1st for him, and was so important to their team, he was the 3rd player to lift the cup.

Skinner's been declining since he's 25, but just had one of the best season of his career. Like i said, age don't matter.

You made no sense. Savard is a piece of the trade not the piece. You are deflecting again. Ignored.

I especially liked the comment from a Pens fan that called Petry too old but Letang was certainly worth signing long term. Petry being younger than Letang, of course, is too perfect.

I absolutely love Letang and i'd sign him easily if i was a contender. Then to have someone going two different directions at once without realizing it. Just amazing!

Mental gymnastics i tell you. I'd certainly show anyone this forum is they wanted the definition of cognitive bias.

I don’t know how to be more clear for you. I am not interested in this trade at all, is that clear enough? Savard is the only piece of the trade that might even be interesting. To acquire him I would imagine it would only cost maybe a second round pick, if the Sabres were interested which I’m not sure they are. I don’t know if English is not your first language, maybe the translation isn’t very good. But I hope you understand now.
