If there were any trade (I doubt there will be) it would be the pick for the player. That’s really it.

Not trying to diminish anyones value here, but asking for a recent #7 pick and current top-20 prospect, a recent #6 pick (albeit inconsistent one) on top of a 2nd overall pick…is way beyond the norms. Would be largest return of cap era.

Eichel return may end up being just as valuable as what was just suggested. And I’d take Tkachuk over Eichel 11/10 times.

I dont quite understand the Slaf hype for a choppy skater that only scored 5 goals in Liiga. Past high picks scored triple or quadruple that number at same age and in same league. Just shows how weak the draft is. Nemec or Jiricek outside of Wright seem like the sure things.

I'm still nervous about this draft class as a whole because you're still feeling the effects of covid toying with the development of these kids.

Tkachuk being traded for the 2nd overall pick would be absolutely fascinating. I'm just not in love with it because there's no slamdunk at 2, it's not like next season where you get a Michkov

I think these are the four I'd consider at #2.
All appear to be fairly elite and on safer side.

As a Habs fan, Shane Wright isnt even looking elite but more like a number 2 center with 2 way play that could top out at 70-80 points. You cant tell me Bedard or Michkov dont blow those 4 guys out of the water?!

I think they’re all likely to be good players. It’s just really tough to be in that 2nd spot this year. Picking 4th or 5th and taking whoever is there might be a nicer spot IMO. Gives me shades of the 2017 draft in a way
