But he’s old & expensive & most importantly- he isn’t the style of defenseman we’re looking for
We aren’t gonna have any interest at all in an offensive minded defenseman

He’s the wrong fit to partner with Dahlin or Power
And having him on the 3rd pair wouldn’t make sense either

If we bring in any defensemen at all, they need to be more defensively oriented
Dahlin & Power will bring the offense from the back end for us

I agree, it will be interesting to see how hard Adams pushes now to find a top4 RD partner for Power with how the top4 finished the year. Unless you're somehow trading for a Theodore or Cernak type I would be fine with a Gubs, Lyubushkin or Braun type for 3RD and hopefully draft that player.

So Montreal trades away an aging offensive defender and then goes to free agency simply to get another to more terms and money... Husso got tore to pieces in the playoffs so not sure I'd want to commit so much money on him.
