Habs decline. I don't think it is worth giving up our second best winger for a prospect. (Nazar will obviously be better than him, but habs aren't in a position to trade Andy )

farell could end up being a lesser version of savoie at this point, but at the same time, our top 6 would end up being relatively small, savoie, caufield, suzuki (ik he a thick boii at 200lbs but 5'11) one undersized would be ok but 2 could end up bad come playoff time in 3-4 years.

Didn’t even have to click on it to know it was going to be ditching Anderson and somehow getting a top ten pick.

Bahahahaha what? The habs are getting out of a contract they probably don’t want on the books and getting a top ten pick in the process. That’s bananas. He might be the habs second best winger, but thats because the habs were really really really bad.

Ok, hes not the second best winger on a lot of teams, but everyone think Anderson is trash, in contrary, he is very valuable.

so u can get a pastrnak type of guy w a 7oa? tbh this draft is really more about the top 5 as the rest arent better, wright, slaf, cooley, nemec, jiricek, savoie, kemell, might as well get either savoie or kemell.

In a vacuum, yes. He’s a good player. Factor in the contract, and he’s not an asset.

Today, he might be worth it. Probably isn’t, but you could make the argument. Personally for 5 and a half i want 20 goals out of a winger, and more than 32 points with a dash 25. Meh, he’s not worth it, but lets just say its close. Its 2027 that other GMs are going to be worried about. His contract stinks because of term, not necessarily because of AAV.

ppl are acting as if the 7oa is worth so much on a draft deep but not with high end talent after top 5.

He will only start to decline, just passed his prime, when his contract expires. Not too much of an issue.

The 7OA is worth a lot. But in this instance, the package going back is nothing.

Oh he will? Thats a fact huh? Well, he’ll be an outlier. Guys of his playing style are usually out of their prime by 29. Forwards in general tend to see their prime end around 28-29.

He’s a slightly negative value asset. Not terrible, but he’s below neutral value for sure.

maybe edmundson at 50%, anderson and our 33rd pick, and farell might do the trick. even then its barely enough tbh, both edmundson and anderson are worth a 1st but not a top 10 first, a playoff team's 1st which is late in the round is what they are worth tbh.

Ahhhh we’ve gotten to the issue. You think Anderson is worth a first. That’s utterly preposterous. He’s negative value. Not a good contract.

as of right now, he might be worth a first only if we take a bad contract back tbh.

U were surely in the conversation of : ``Chariot will not fetch u a 1st + or even a 1st. And Lekhonen will not fetch u a second + ``

Anderson worth a 1st a 20+ first but a 1st.

Ottawa has plenty of Anderson caliber wingers who are not signed long term and don't cost a 5.5 AAV. They could even re-sign Nick Paul as a UFA if they wanted.

Tkachuk - Norris - Batherson
????????? - Stutzle - ?????????
Formenton - Pinto - Brown
Kelly/Crookshank - Kastelic/Gambrell - Watson

Mathieu Joseph and Colin White are/will also be under contract. Don't even know where to place them right now. Oh and there's several high end/good prospects who will also try to crack the lineup, like Ridly Greig and Viktor Lodin.

So what they need is a CLEAR CUT Top-6 forward to play with Stutzle, not adding to the log jam while accruing the total cap

So this is not the way the Sens are going to spend their 7th OA pick, IF they spend it.

Stop, you don't understand. Ottawa is not spending a 7th OA pick on anything else than a Top-6 WINGER or a Top-4 RHD to play with Chabot.

They don't need to make a quality for quantity trade. Tyler Boucher, their 10th OA pick from last year, is barely a Sens top-15 prospect at the moment. 18th y/o Zack Ostapchuk is like their 13th best prospect and he just scored 23 pts in 12 playoffs games. They don't need Farrell and Harris.

Oh for sure, i misjudged the deadline rental market. That doesn’t have anything really have anything to do with 4+ year commitments though.

Opposing fans are proposing players like Kevin Fiala, Alex DeBrincat and Brock Boeser... not Josh Andersons

You’d still get one of Savoie or Kemell at 7 so yes it’s worth a lot
