In the event that Brobrovsky would actually wave his no trade clause to come to Buffalo, why is Buffalo doing Florida such a favor and paying them a second round pick to do it? Serran Noel is a nice prospect, but eating four years of a $10 million per year deal for a goalie as old as he already is, that’s just crazy.

There's a whole other prospect included there who is quite quite good

We also get a good goalie out of it

Even so, good for how much longer? He’s signed for four years. I can all but guarantee Levi or Portillo will be ready to take his spot before that contract is up. We can’t really afford to have a goaltender eating $10 million of cap space for four years, we have about five or six good young players who need new deals in the next two years and no guarantee that the salary cap will go up.

Mackie is a interesting piece 24th pick last year I believe. 2 nice pieces, I would definitely think about it. But the Pegula's won't

After signing him I still have 20 million in cap space and other deals will fall off and there will be an influx of ELCs.

Only way Sabres actually pay 2nd rounder for Bobrovsky would be when Florida retain like 3,5 mil, which would be cheaper for them than buyout and saves 6,5 in cap space.

Bob is relatively cheap to buyout in 2 years, if one of the Gs are ready. Still.. I'm not entirely sure I'd do this without Florida retaining 3-4 mill
