I wouldn't trade a 7th round pick to help toronto move Tavares.

Sorry, that's brutal for NSH. The value isn't close, and they don't have the depth on the right side to trade Fabbro, even if BUF was offering fair value.

Yes i can see how terrible it would be to have a ppg, future HOFer, and current captain whos not an a$$hole on the roster for 3 years while were sitting below the cap floor.

Come on now fabbro is worth more than that. Fabbro was on nashvilles top pairing and played well for a 23 year old and you want to get him for an underwhelming player you haven’t lived up to expectations yet. Pass

You think a struggling bottom six forward is fair value for a top pairing defenseman?

I hate Mittelstadt but hes not a bottom 6 forward. Fabbro is also not a top pair dman

I can't recall which line BUF was using Mittelstadt on, but his production has been bottom six to date.

Fabbro literally plays on NSH's top pair.

Fabbro would play on Arizonas top pair too, so what. Jokiharju was on Buffalo's top pair, doesnt make him a top pair guy.
Same with Mittelstadt hes on the 3rd line because hes struggling not because hes a bottom 6 forward. Even then middle 6 is more accurate

Fabbro would be on the top pair on many teams - BUF included. He's quite talented, and likely still has room to grow.

Mittlelstadt hasn't provided any evidence he can hold down even a middle six spot, after four pro seasons. That's not a struggling player - that's an AHLer.

Fabbro would be on the 2nd pair as I have it, as he is a 2nd pair guy. Again not a Mitts fan, but i hate being hyperbolic even more. Mittlestadt is not AHLer bad. Over his last 60 games hes had 37 points, if i did the math right his pp60 is 2.2 over that stretch, with an injury in the middle. I think he can put it together and be a 2C but the Sabres top 9 has 3 centers already

I don't love Tavares at 11 million, but I also don't love Tage thompson as a #1 center. So depending on if there is a legit #1 center prospect available at 9, I could be convinced.

He's been injured. He's played 81 games over the past 2 seasons scoring 41 points. Not super awesome, but not ahler

He's 100% in the decline. No one thinks he can play center anymore.

You've allowed toronto the flexibility to pay matthews, marner and nylander extensions while not losing their RFAs either. And you have them 2 great assets to do it.

We also get stuck with an 11 million contract while trying to resign our entire team minus skinner and tuch.

Why would Nashville give up their cheap cost controlled 1st pairing rhd for a forward who has injury issues and hasn’t lived up to anything near his draft pedigree

Hope this was just for dramatic effect. He’s been a .5 ppg player two years now, and much better defensively.

NSH has enough better centres too. Johansen and Granlund aren't going anywhere. Sissons can play all over the lineup, but he's been great on the 3rd with Trenin and Jeannot. They've got lots of options at 4C. They could go with a young skilled guy like Glass or Pärssinen, or a defensive physical guy like McCarron or Novak again. Plus they have centers like Duchene and Kunin playing wing right now too. Even if NSH had the depth to trade Fabbro or if BUF just wanted futures or something for Mittelstadt, he doesn't fit into NSH's lineup and I don't see them having any interest.

Both are 30 and both were written off until having a year out of nowhere, same with Duchene and Kunin. Glass is an actual bust, more of a bust that Mitts, Pärssinen hasnt played a game in north America yet. Now youre reaching hard

I can't recall Granlund having been written off at any point. Johansen isn't quite 30 yet, and while his production didn't match his current contract until this season, he (like Granlund) was and is still a vastly better player than Mittelstadt. NSH choose to give Glass a year in the minors to work on his game properly, like VGK should have done with him. He excelled down there and looks like a much more complete player. Maybe BUF should try that with Mitts too, and see if they can salvage some of his potential. Pärssinen is actually in NA now. He joined the Ads for the playoffs, after his European season ended. I haven't watched any of his AHL games yet, but people have been raving about him so far:

https://twitter.com/FPHWolves/status/1528469442728017921
https://twitter.com/Kperk86/status/1529570156481060864

The only reaching here is in how hard you're trying to defend a lopsided proposal that does nothing for NSH.

Fabbro will be an rfa with arbitration rights. Still a degree of cost control. You can pump up Mittlestadt all you want but I just don’t see it. Difference of opinion I guess.

I mean Nashville nhl rhd after trading Fabbro is carrier…. Literally just carrier unless you want to put lauzon at rhd. Not sure how that makes Nashville good.
