If he wanted out so badly he wouldn't have signed a 2yr extension with the team.

DeBrusk signed a two-year contract extension with a $4 million salary cap hit on trade deadline day back on March 21. At the time, it was thought that this extension might make it easier to move DeBrusk. But what if he remains in Boston on that contract?

"Yeah. I don’t think I would’ve signed something like that if I wasn’t OK with that," DeBrusk said. "I think that, obviously, it was crazy circumstances around that time especially. I’m signed for another two years. I was excited to sign that, and I think my game took off after that as well. I think that’s when, like I said earlier, I didn’t have to answer these questions for a while, so it was kind of nice. Sure enough, my game came around."

Los Angeles says Yes if you just add Lysell.

Did the fact that DeBrusk is in the last year of his contract before becoming an unrestricted free agent escape you?

    You can’t be serious.
    1. 25 year old 25 goal scorers are worth a mid-late first.
    2. He has a 2 years left on his deal.
    3. I think the general consensus is that lysell is worth more than that pick just by himself.

Seems like you might be the one thats letting facts escape them.

Would you bruin fans stop sending Folingo to Columbus. Columbus has no room for him with too many forwards needing ice time already and he wants to win a cup, that’s why he left Columbus in the first place, maybe he comes back and retires a blue jacket but that’s when his career is over, but not now.

I mean, if you really want to read into banal quotes on locker cleanout day, I think you have to notice that there's no "I'm looking forward to 2 more years in Boston" or anything along those lines in there, just a bunch of "god I'm glad I stopped getting asked about trades after the trade deadline."

Just one of many quotes/comments. He even stayed in Boston well past cleanout day to hangout with guys on the team and be around the city. Hardly actions of a guy who can't wait to get out of Boston.

I hadn't noticed that CapFriendly has recently dropped the 2021-2022 column from its team pages, which is why I thought he had only one year left.

But that kind of removes the narrative of, “bruins need to trade him,” and pushes it to, “if the bruins get a good offer, they might trade him.” It seems like half this forum saw the trade request and said, “welp, Bruins have to trade him for whatever they can get.”

oh yeah there have been some stinker offers for JDB. I think the way you put it nails it - both sides can make it work if they have to but if a good enough offer comes along no one's gonna be too upset about moving on, either.

Would you want your team to give up a first for Debrusk? If he wasnt already on it

If that team was a playoff team, with a need for a top six winger, solid centers, and a pick after 15, yes.

Lol, no I’m just not stupid.

Guy scored 20 goals in 50 games in 2022. Good defensively. Good forecheck. Only 25 for two years at 4 mill? All day for a pick in the second half of the first round. Doofus.
